Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a barber in Capoterra is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I roll into the shop on Via Roma, right? The sun’s blazin’, and I’m already sweatin’ like a sinner in church. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First customer walks in. It’s old Giuseppe, bless his heart. He’s got more stories than hair on his head. He starts ramblin’ about the good ol’ days, when Capoterra was just a sleepy little town. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Dude, I got hair to cut!” But hey, I love the guy. He’s like a walking history book. Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! Just my luck, right? I’m standin’ there with scissors in hand, lookin’ like a deer in headlights. The whole street goes dark. Via Roma turns into a ghost town. I’m thinkin’, “Great, now I’m a barber with no power.” But then, the lights flicker back on. Phew! I’m back in business. I finish up Giuseppe’s cut, and he tips me with a jar of homemade olives. I mean, who does that? But hey, I ain’t complainin’. Those olives are bomb! Next up is Carla. She’s a regular, always wants the latest trends. Today, she’s like, “I want something edgy.” I’m like, “Girl, you’re already edgy!” But I give her a wild pixie cut. She loves it, and I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. Then, bam! My buddy Marco strolls in. He’s got this wild idea to start a food truck. “Let’s do it!” he says. I’m like, “Dude, you can’t even cook pasta without burnin’ it!” But he’s all fired up. We start brainstormin’ names. “Pasta on Wheels?” “Capoterra’s Culinary Adventure?” We’re laughin’ so hard, I almost drop my scissors. But then, the mood shifts. A couple of guys walk in, lookin’ all shady. They’re talkin’ loud, and I can feel the tension. They start arguin’ about some nonsense. I’m thinkin’, “Not in my shop, fellas!” So, I step in, all calm-like, and say, “Hey, how about a haircut instead of a fight?” They look at me like I’m crazy. But guess what? They actually sit down! I’m cuttin’ hair and breakin’ up fights all in one day. After that, I’m ready for a break. I step outside to grab a quick espresso at the café on Via Cagliari. The barista, Luca, knows my order by heart. “One espresso, extra strong!” I down it like a champ. The sun’s settin’, and Capoterra looks beautiful. The hills, the sea, it’s all so picturesque. But then, I hear a commotion. A bunch of kids are runnin’ around, playin’ soccer in the street. One of ‘em kicks the ball right into my shop! It smacks the wall, and I’m like, “Seriously?!” But the kids just laugh and run off. I can’t help but chuckle. Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but happy. I clean up the shop, and as I’m lockin’ up, I look around. Capoterra’s my home. The streets, the people, the chaos—it’s all part of the charm. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a barber in Capoterra. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
