Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Capurso is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, Via Roma. I’m there, ready to check on this ancient olive tree. You know, the one that’s older than my grandma? Yeah, that one. I get there, and what do I see? A bunch of kids playing soccer under it. Like, c’mon! I’m here to save trees, not dodge soccer balls! I’m like, “Hey, kiddos, can you not?” They just laugh and keep kicking. Ugh, kids these days! So, I finally get them to move. I’m all set to inspect the tree, and bam! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Seriously? I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” But whatever, I brush it off. I’m a pro, right? Next, I head over to Piazza della Repubblica. It’s buzzing, as usual. People everywhere, sipping their espresso, chatting. I love the vibe here. But then, I spot this old lady struggling with her shopping bags. I rush over, ‘cause that’s what good people do, right? I help her out, and she’s like, “Grazie, giovane!” I’m feelin’ like a hero for a sec. But then she starts telling me her life story. I’m talkin’ 30 minutes of “back in my day” tales. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Lady, I gotta prune some trees!” Finally, I escape and head to Via Cavour. There’s this massive fig tree that needs some serious TLC. I’m climbing up, feeling like a monkey, and then I see it. A beehive! I’m not allergic, but man, those bees were not happy. I’m up there, trying to trim branches, and they’re buzzing around me like they own the place. I’m like, “Chill, bees! I’m just here for the figs!” After that, I’m sweating buckets. I decide to grab a gelato at Gelateria Capurso. Best decision ever! I get a scoop of pistachio, and it’s like heaven in a cone. I’m sitting there, enjoying my treat, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just trying to enjoy my gelato. I’m thinking, “Dude, save it for later!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m sprinting back to my truck, gelato in hand, and I slip on the cobblestones. Classic! I’m soaked, sticky, and laughing at myself. Capurso weather, man. You never know what you’re gonna get. By the time I get back to the shop, I’m exhausted. But I can’t stop thinking about that fig tree. I mean, it’s just a tree, but it’s part of Capurso, ya know? It’s like, every tree has a story. I’m just the guy who helps them tell it. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of drama. Capurso, you wild city, you never fail to surprise me!
