Man, what a day! I swear, Carapelle is wild. I’m a bone cutter, right? But today? Today was somethin’ else. So, I roll outta bed, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already feelin’ the weight of the world. I grab my coffee from that little café on Via Roma. You know the one? The one with the weird pastries? Yeah, that place. I’m chuggin’ my espresso like it’s the elixir of life. First patient of the day, this dude comes in, all nervous. He’s got a broken leg, and I’m like, “Bro, chill. I got this.” But then, he starts talkin’ about how he fell off his bike on Via Garibaldi. I mean, c’mon! Who rides a bike there? It’s like a death trap! I’m tryin’ to keep it together, but inside, I’m laughin’ my ass off. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Yo, meet me at the piazza later!” I’m like, “Sure, but I’m busy cuttin’ bones, man!” But I can’t resist. The piazza is always lit. So, I finish up with the leg guy, and I’m feelin’ pretty good. I mean, I just saved a leg, right? But then, I get this emergency call. A kid fell off a swing at the park on Via della Libertà. I’m like, “Seriously? A swing?” But I rush over. When I get there, it’s chaos. Parents are freakin’ out, kids are cryin’. I’m like, “What’s the deal?” Turns out, the kid just scraped his knee. I’m like, “Dude, you’re fine! Just a little band-aid and you’re golden.” But the mom? She’s actin’ like he’s got a broken spine or somethin’. I mean, c’mon! After that, I’m finally free. I head to the piazza, and it’s packed. Marco’s there, drinkin’ a spritz like he owns the place. I sit down, and he’s like, “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” I’m like, “Nah, just a bunch of drama queens today.” We start crackin’ jokes, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, this street performer shows up. He’s playin’ the accordion, and I’m like, “Dude, it’s 2023! Get a real job!” But I can’t help but laugh. The guy’s got moves. Then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, heavy rain. We’re all runnin’ for cover, and I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what I needed.” But then, I see this couple dancing in the rain. I mean, who does that? It’s like a movie scene or somethin’. I’m just standin’ there, soaked, and I can’t help but smile. After the rain, the sun comes out, and the piazza looks magical. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’ about how crazy life is. One minute, I’m cuttin’ bones, and the next, I’m watchin’ people dance in the rain. As the day winds down, I’m walkin’ home through Via Vittorio Emanuele. The streets are all lit up, and I’m feelin’ grateful. Carapelle, man. It’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I get home, kick off my shoes, and crash on the couch. What a day! I’m exhausted but happy. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? But for now, I’m just gonna chill and let the craziness of Carapelle sink in.
