Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a Watchman in Cardano-al-Campo is no joke. I woke up this mornin’ thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Via Roma, and it was like a scene from a movie. People rushin’ everywhere, cars honkin’, and that one dude on a bike almost took me out. Like, bro, chill! It’s not a race! I swear, if I had a euro for every time I almost got run over, I’d be rich. So, I’m doin’ my rounds, right? Checkin’ out the usual spots. The piazza was packed. I mean, who doesn’t love a good espresso at Caffè Centrale? I grabbed one, and it was like liquid gold. But then, outta nowhere, this kid spills his gelato all over my shoes. Ugh! I was like, “Dude, really?!” But he just laughed and ran off. Kids these days, man. Then I headed down to Via Garibaldi. There’s this old lady, Nonna Rosa, who sells the best pastries. I’m talkin’ cannoli that’ll make you weep. I stopped by, and she gave me a free one. Bless her heart! But then, I saw a pigeon swoop down and snatch it right outta my hand! I was like, “No way!” I mean, come on! Even the pigeons are out to get me today. After that, I was feelin’ a bit down, ya know? So I decided to hit up the park by the Chiesa di San Giovanni. It’s usually peaceful there. But today? Nah. There was this group of teenagers blastin’ music, and they were dancin’ like they were in a TikTok video or somethin’. I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, who dances like that in public? But hey, it made me smile. Then, outta nowhere, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and it’s a car that just backed into a lamppost. Classic! The driver gets out, lookin’ all confused. I’m standin’ there, tryin’ not to laugh, but I couldn’t help it. I mean, c’mon! How do you not see a lamppost? By the time I got to Via Mazzini, I was feelin’ a mix of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised—like a rollercoaster. I bumped into my buddy Marco, and we started talkin’ about the local football team, Cardano Calcio. They’ve been on a losing streak, and we were both ventin’ about it. “They need to step it up!” I said. Marco just shook his head, “Yeah, but they’re our team, man.” As the sun started settlin’ down, I made my way back to the main square. The lights were comin’ on, and it looked beautiful. I took a moment to just breathe it all in. Cardano-al-Campo, with its cobblestone streets and vibrant life, it’s home. But then, just when I thought the day was over, I saw a couple gettin’ engaged right in front of the fountain. The guy was down on one knee, and the girl was cryin’. I mean, how sweet is that? I felt all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, I tripped over my own feet and almost fell into the fountain. Classic me, right? So yeah, that was my day. Full of chaos, laughter, and a bit of drama. Cardano-al-Campo, you never cease to amaze me. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
