Man, what a day! I swear, Cardito is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another dive day. But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ down Via Roma, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be great!” But then, BAM! I step in a puddle. Not just any puddle, but the grossest, murkiest water ever. Like, what even is that? I’m pretty sure I saw a rat swim by. Ugh. Anyway, I finally get to the dive shop on Via Napoli. The owner, Marco, is already in a mood. He’s like, “You’re late!” I’m like, “Dude, I stepped in rat water!” He just rolls his eyes. Classic Marco. But he’s got this killer new gear, and I’m like, “Okay, I forgive you.” We head out to the coast. The water’s looking good, but the waves? They’re like, “Surprise! We’re here to mess with you!” I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” But whatever, I’m a pro. I dive in, and it’s like entering another world. Fish everywhere, colors poppin’—it’s beautiful. But then, outta nowhere, I see this huge net tangled up in some rocks. I’m like, “No way!” I swim over, and it’s a mess. I’m trying to untangle it, but it’s like wrestling an octopus. I’m getting frustrated, and I’m thinking, “Why do people do this? Just throw your trash in the bin, people!” Finally, I get it free, and I’m feeling like a hero. I swim back up, and the crew’s cheering. I’m like, “Yeah, I saved the day!” But then, I look around, and I realize I’m the only one who’s not wearing a wetsuit. I’m in my board shorts, and everyone’s like, “Dude, you’re gonna freeze!” I’m like, “Nah, I’m tough!” But inside, I’m shivering. After the dive, we hit up this little café on Via San Giovanni. Best coffee ever! I order a cappuccino, and the barista, this cute girl named Lucia, gives me a smile. I’m trying to play it cool, but my heart’s racing. I’m like, “Hey, do you dive?” She laughs and says, “Only in my dreams.” I’m thinking, “Well, let’s change that!” But I just sip my coffee like a dork. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Luca spills his drink all over the table. I’m cracking up, and he’s like, “Dude, not funny!” But it totally is. We’re all laughing, and I’m thinking, “This is what life’s about.” But then, the mood shifts. We hear this commotion outside. Turns out, there’s a street performer on Via Roma, and he’s juggling fire. I’m like, “This is gonna end badly.” And guess what? It does! He drops a torch, and it rolls right into a guy’s pizza. The guy freaks out, and I’m dying laughing. The performer’s trying to play it off, but it’s chaos. People are yelling, and I’m just standing there, thinking, “Only in Cardito!” As the sun sets, we stroll down Via Giuseppe Mazzini. The sky’s all pink and orange, and I’m feeling grateful. Cardito’s got this vibe, ya know? It’s messy, it’s loud, but it’s home. I get back to my place, and I’m exhausted. But I can’t stop smiling. Today was a rollercoaster. I’m thinking, “Bring on tomorrow!” Because if today was any indication, it’s gonna be another wild ride.
