Man, what a day! I swear, Carugo is wild. I’m just a charcoal burner, right? But today? Today was somethin’ else. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already feelin’ the heat. Not from the sun, but from my furnace. Gotta get that charcoal goin’! I live near Via Roma, and lemme tell ya, it’s a busy street. Cars zoomin’ by, people rushin’ to work. I’m just tryin’ to breathe in the morning air, but it’s like inhaling exhaust fumes. Ugh! First thing that hits me? My neighbor, old man Giuseppe. He’s out there yellin’ at his cat. Like, dude, it’s a cat! Chill! But nah, he’s all worked up. I’m thinkin’, “If only you put that energy into your garden, maybe it wouldn’t look like a jungle.” Anyway, I finally get my charcoal ready. I’m feelin’ proud, like a king with his throne. But then, boom! My buddy Marco shows up. He’s got this wild idea. “Let’s hit the market on Via Garibaldi!” he says. I’m like, “Dude, I got work!” But he’s persistent. So, I’m like, “Fine, but just for a bit.” We head to the market, and wow, it’s packed! People everywhere, haggling over veggies and cheese. I’m just tryin’ to navigate through the crowd. I bump into this lady, and she spills her olives everywhere. I’m like, “Sorry!” but she’s givin’ me the death stare. Like, lady, it’s olives, not gold! Then, I see this stall with fresh bread. I can’t resist. I grab a loaf, and it’s still warm. Best decision ever! I’m munchin’ on it, and Marco’s rollin’ his eyes. “You and your bread,” he says. But I don’t care. It’s heavenly! After the market, we stroll down Via Cavour. It’s a beautiful street, lined with old buildings. I love the vibe here. But then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. Marco’s laughin’ his head off. “You look like a drowned rat!” he yells. Thanks, buddy. Just what I needed. We duck into a café to escape the rain. I order a cappuccino, and it’s like a warm hug in a cup. I’m feelin’ good again. But then, I overhear this couple arguing. They’re goin’ at it, and I’m just sittin’ there, sippin’ my coffee, thinkin’, “Man, love is weird.” Finally, the rain stops, and we head back. I’m thinkin’ about my charcoal. Did I leave it too long? I rush back to Via Roma, and guess what? My furnace is smokin’ like a chimney! I freak out! I’m throwin’ open the door, and smoke pours out. I’m coughin’, eyes waterin’. But then, I see it. The charcoal is perfect! I’m so relieved. I’m dancin’ around like a fool. “I did it! I did it!” I shout. My neighbors are lookin’ at me like I’m nuts. But who cares? I’m on top of the world! As the sun sets over Carugo, I sit outside, watchin’ the sky turn orange and pink. It’s peaceful. I think about the day. The chaos, the laughter, the rain. It’s all part of life, right? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, Carugo, you’re a wild ride. But I love ya. Even with your crazy streets and loud neighbors. Here’s to more days like this!
