Man, what a day! I swear, being a cashier in Casaluce is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into work at the little market on Via Roma, right? It’s a sunny morning, but I can feel the chaos brewing. You know how it is. First customer walks in. This dude, I swear, he’s got a cart full of stuff. Like, who needs 10 packs of pasta? I mean, c’mon! I’m just trying to scan and he’s chatting me up about the weather. “It’s gonna rain, you know?” Yeah, buddy, I can see the clouds rolling in. But I’m stuck here, scanning your 10 packs of spaghetti. Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out! Just like that! I’m standing there, in the dark, with a line of people looking at me like I’m supposed to fix it. I’m like, “Sorry, I’m not a magician!” Everyone’s grumbling, and I’m just trying to keep my cool. Finally, the lights flicker back on. Phew! But then, this lady comes in. She’s got a baby in one arm and a shopping list that looks like it’s from a novel. I’m talking, like, 20 items. And she’s all, “Can you help me find the olive oil?” Lady, I’m a cashier, not a tour guide! But I help her anyway, because, you know, karma and all that. So, we’re walking down Via Napoli, and I’m trying to keep it together. She’s asking about the best pizza places. I’m like, “Dude, you’re in Casaluce! Just go to Pizzeria Da Michele!” Best pizza ever, no joke. But she’s too busy looking for that olive oil. After that, I finally get a break. I step outside for some fresh air. Casaluce is buzzing! The streets are alive, people are chatting, and I can smell the fresh bread from the bakery on Via Garibaldi. It’s heavenly! I grab a slice of pizza from a street vendor. Best decision ever. But then, I head back inside, and it’s like a scene from a horror movie. The line is out the door! I’m talking, like, a hundred people waiting. Okay, maybe not a hundred, but it felt like it. I’m scanning items like a madman. “Next! Next! Next!” And then, this guy comes in. He’s got a parrot on his shoulder. A freakin’ parrot! I’m just standing there, trying not to laugh. The parrot starts squawking, “Polly wants a cracker!” I’m like, “Dude, I can’t even get my coffee fix!” Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted, but I can’t help but smile. Casaluce is wild, man. The people, the streets, the food. It’s chaotic, but it’s home. I pack up my stuff, ready to head out. As I walk down Via Roma, I think about all the craziness. The power outage, the lady with the baby, the parrot guy. It’s all part of the charm, right? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another day in Casaluce. Can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
