Man, what a day! I woke up in Caserta, and I swear, I thought I was in a movie. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was like, “Today’s gonna be epic!” Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First off, I hit up Via Roma for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m talking about that rich, dark espresso that slaps you awake. I ordered my usual, and the barista, this dude with a killer mustache, gave me a look like I was asking for unicorn milk. Like, c’mon, it’s just coffee, bro! Anyway, I got my drink, and it was fire. I was feeling good, ready to tackle the day. So, I’m strolling down Corso Trieste, right? Just vibing, listening to my tunes, when BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, seriously? I’m in Caserta, not a bird poop convention! I was furious. I mean, who does that? I looked up, and the pigeon just stared at me like, “What’s your problem?” I wanted to throw a piece of bread at it, but I didn’t want to start a war with the local wildlife. After that little incident, I decided to check out the Royal Palace. You know, the one that’s like a mini Versailles? It’s massive! I walked through the gardens, and they were stunning. But then, I saw a couple taking selfies. They were all lovey-dovey, and I was like, “Get a room!” I mean, I’m all for romance, but c’mon, not in front of the fountains! Then, I bumped into this old guy selling gelato on Via San Carlo. He was like a gelato wizard. I tried the pistachio, and OMG, it was life-changing. I was so happy, I almost cried. But then, I realized I had no cash. I was like, “Dude, can I Venmo you?” He just laughed and said, “No money, no gelato!” I was crushed. I mean, who doesn’t take digital payments in 2023? Feeling defeated, I wandered over to the Caserta Cathedral. It’s beautiful, but I was still salty about the gelato. I sat on the steps, just thinking about life. Then, this kid runs by, chasing a soccer ball, and BOOM! He kicks it right into the fountain. Water everywhere! I couldn’t help but laugh. Kids are hilarious. After that, I decided to hit up a local market on Via Mazzini. It was packed! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all the pasta you could dream of. I was in heaven. I grabbed some tomatoes, thinking I’d make a killer sauce later. But then, I saw this lady arguing with a vendor. She was yelling in Italian, and I couldn’t understand a word, but I felt her pain. I mean, who hasn’t had a bad day at the market, right? By the time I left, I was exhausted. I headed back to my place, and as I walked down Via Giuseppe Mazzini, I thought about how crazy the day had been. I mean, from pigeon poop to gelato heartbreak, it was a rollercoaster. Finally, I plopped down on my couch, ready to chill. I thought about all the weird stuff that happened. Caserta is wild, man. It’s got this charm, but it can throw you for a loop. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, though. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and frustration. Just another day in Caserta, I guess!
