Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my little shack by the Naviglio Grande, right? The sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinking about my raft. Gotta get it ready for the day. You know how it is. First thing, I hit up the local café on Via Roma. Best espresso in Cassolnovo, hands down. I mean, if you haven’t had a shot from there, you’re missing out. I grab my usual, and the barista, Marco, gives me that look. You know, the “you’re gonna need this” look. I’m like, “Dude, you have no idea.” So, I’m chugging my coffee, and I head down to the river. The Naviglio’s looking good today. Water’s flowing, birds are chirping, and I’m feeling all zen. But then, bam! I see this huge log stuck in the middle of the river. Like, seriously? Who leaves a log in my way? I’m a raftsman, not a log remover! I’m fuming, right? I grab my tools and start working on it. Sweat’s pouring down my face, and I’m cursing under my breath. “Why me? Why today?” I mean, it’s not like I asked for a log obstacle course. Finally, after what feels like forever, I get it out. I’m feeling like a champ, but then I look up and see a bunch of kids on the bank. They’re laughing at me! Like, come on! I’m out here busting my butt, and they’re just having a good ol’ time. I can’t help but chuckle, though. Kids are hilarious. After that, I decide to take a break. I stroll down Via Garibaldi, and man, the vibe is just right. Street vendors are out, selling everything from fresh fruit to handmade trinkets. I grab a slice of pizza from this little joint. Best pizza in town, no contest. I mean, it’s Cassolnovo, how can you go wrong with pizza? But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into a shop on Via Cavour, and it’s packed. Everyone’s crammed in there, trying to stay dry. I’m standing there, dripping wet, and this old lady looks at me and says, “You look like a drowned rat.” I can’t even be mad. She’s right! Once the rain lets up, I head back to the river. I’m thinking, “Okay, let’s finish this day strong.” But then, I see my raft. It’s floating away! I sprint after it, yelling like a madman. “Hey! Come back!” I’m flailing my arms, and people are staring. I must’ve looked ridiculous. Finally, I catch up to it. Thank goodness! I’m pulling it back, and I’m just laughing at myself. What a day, right? I’m soaked, tired, and my heart’s racing. But you know what? I love this city. Cassolnovo’s got its quirks, but it’s home. As the sun sets, I’m sitting by the river, watching the water flow. I think about all the crazy stuff that happened today. The log, the kids, the rain. It’s all part of the ride. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild one in Cassolnovo. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
