Man, what a day! Seriously, Casteggio, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday, but nope! Not in this town. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Cool, let’s do this.” I grab my coffee from that little café on Via Roma. You know the one? The one with the weirdly shaped pastries? Yeah, that place. I swear, their cornetti are like little bites of heaven. But today, they were out. Ugh! I was like, “Really? You had one job!” Anyway, I head to work. I’m a document specialist, which sounds fancy but really just means I deal with a ton of papers. Fun, right? So, I’m walking down Via Cavour, and I see this old dude trying to cross the street. He’s moving slower than molasses. I’m like, “C’mon, man! The light’s gonna change!” But he just smiles and waves. I mean, how can you be mad at that? Then, BAM! Outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms past me. Almost knocks me over! I’m like, “Dude, chill! This ain’t the Tour de France!” But he just laughs and speeds off. Kids these days, right? Finally, I get to the office on Via Garibaldi. I’m ready to tackle the mountain of documents waiting for me. But guess what? My computer decides to throw a tantrum. It’s like, “Nah, not today!” I’m sitting there, staring at the screen, and I’m like, “Really? You too?” So, I take a break. I step outside, need some fresh air. I walk over to the park by the church, you know, the one with the big fountain? It’s so peaceful there. I sit on a bench, and this little dog runs up to me. It’s all wagging its tail, and I’m like, “Aww, hey buddy!” I pet him, and for a moment, everything’s right in the world. But then, I hear this loud noise. It’s a bunch of teenagers blasting music from a speaker. I’m like, “Seriously? Can’t a person enjoy some peace?” But then I see them dancing, and I can’t help but laugh. They’re having the time of their lives. I mean, who am I to ruin their fun? After that, I head back to work. I’m trying to focus, but my mind keeps wandering. I start thinking about that little gelato shop on Via Mazzini. I could really go for a scoop of pistachio right now. But no, I gotta work. Finally, the day drags on. I’m knee-deep in paperwork, and I’m just about ready to pull my hair out. But then, my boss walks in with a box of pastries. I’m like, “Okay, you’re my favorite person right now!” We all gather around, and it’s like a mini party. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I walk home, taking the long way through the streets. Casteggio is so beautiful at sunset. The colors are insane! I stop by the old castle ruins, just to soak it all in. And that’s when it hits me. This town, with all its quirks and craziness, it’s home. Sure, it drives me nuts sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, Casteggio, you crazy little gem, you made my day. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
