Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Castegnato, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I grab my coffee at Bar Centrale on Via Roma. Best espresso in town, no cap. But guess what? The barista, Marco, spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Dude, I need that caffeine!” He just laughs it off. I mean, come on, Marco! I need my fix! So, I head down to the river, the Naviglio, to check on my rafts. You know, just a regular day of floating around. But as I’m walking down Via Garibaldi, I see this huge crowd. Turns out, there’s a street fair! I’m thinking, “Sweet, free food!” But no, it’s packed. Like, sardines in a can packed. I can’t even move. I finally squeeze through and find this amazing stand selling polenta. I’m like, “Yesss!” But then, this kid bumps into me, and my polenta goes flying. I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Really, kid?!” I mean, it’s polenta! My heart was breaking. After that, I’m fuming, but I try to shake it off. I stroll over to the old church, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. It’s beautiful, man. I love the vibe there. I sit on the steps, just breathing. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady sits next to me. She starts chatting about the history of Castegnato. I’m like, “Wow, lady, you’re a walking encyclopedia!” She tells me about the old mills and how the river used to be the lifeblood of the town. I’m getting all sentimental, you know? But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Luca. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit the bar later!” I’m pumped! But then I remember, I promised my mom I’d help her with the garden. Ugh! The struggle is real. So, I rush home, and my mom’s like, “You’re late!” I’m like, “Chill, Mom! I was saving the world!” She rolls her eyes. Classic. We start digging in the garden, and I’m sweating like a pig. But then, I find this old coin. I’m like, “Whoa, treasure!” Mom’s not impressed. She’s like, “Just keep digging.” Finally, I finish up and rush to meet Luca at the bar. It’s packed, and the vibe is lit. We’re laughing, drinking, and then this band starts playing. They’re jamming out some classic Italian tunes. I’m feeling it! But then, I spill my drink. Again! I’m like, “What is wrong with me today?” Luca just laughs and says, “You’re a mess, bro.” I can’t even argue. I’m just a walking disaster today. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Castegnato’s got this charm, man. The streets, the people, the food. It’s all a part of me. As the night winds down, I’m walking home, and I can’t help but smile. Yeah, it was a crazy day. But it was MY crazy day in Castegnato. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
