Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a typhlopedagogue, right? Yeah, fancy word for teaching visually impaired folks. But today? Today was a rollercoaster in Castelfranco di Sotto. First off, I woke up late. Like, super late. My alarm? Totally ignored it. I bolted outta bed, threw on whatever I could find. I mean, who needs matching socks anyway? Not me! I grabbed a quick coffee from that little café on Via Roma. You know the one? The one with the best pastries? Yeah, that one. I swear, their cornetti are like little bites of heaven. So, I’m chugging my coffee, trying to wake up, and I head to the school on Via Garibaldi. The streets were buzzing. I mean, it’s Castelfranco, right? The sun was shining, people were out, and I was just trying to keep my head on straight. But then, bam! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m like, “Really? In front of everyone?” Anyway, I finally get to the school, and the kids are hyped. They’re all like, “Hey, teach! What’s up?” And I’m like, “Just trying to survive, you know?” We dive into some activities, and I’m feeling good. But then, outta nowhere, one kid starts crying. Like, full-on sobbing. Turns out, he lost his favorite toy. Ugh, my heart! So, I rally the troops. We’re on a mission! We hit the streets of Castelfranco, searching high and low. We check the park by the Chiesa di San Francesco. No luck. Then we hit up the market on Via della Repubblica. I’m thinking, “This is gonna be a disaster.” But then, guess what? We find it! It was under a fruit stand. The kid’s face? Priceless! I felt like a hero. But then, just when I thought the day couldn’t get crazier, I get a call. My buddy Marco, you know him? He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe this!” Apparently, there’s a street festival happening on Via Mazzini. I’m like, “What? Why didn’t I know?” So, I’m torn. Do I stay with the kids or go party? I decide to take the kids to the festival. I mean, why not? We get there, and it’s wild! Music, food, people everywhere. I’m trying to keep track of my little crew, but they’re off like a pack of wild dogs. I’m running after them, dodging people, and I’m like, “Guys, stay close!” Then, I see this guy juggling. Like, seriously juggling! I’m amazed. The kids are all eyes, and I’m thinking, “This is what it’s all about.” But then, one of the kids bumps into a vendor, and boom! Spaghetti everywhere! I’m laughing, but also like, “Oh man, this is gonna be a mess.” By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. We head back to the school, and I’m just thinking about how crazy it all was. Castelfranco di Sotto, man. It’s got its quirks, but I love it. The streets, the people, the unexpected moments. I finally get home, and I crash on the couch. I’m like, “What a day!” I can’t wait to tell everyone about it. But for now, I’m just gonna chill and dream about those cornetti. Life’s wild, but it’s good.
