Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in my tiny apartment on Via Roma, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had a meeting at the lab on Via Garibaldi. You know, the one with the weird smell? Yeah, that one. I was running late, of course. I spilled coffee on my lab coat. Like, who even does that? I mean, I’m a biochemist, not a barista! So, I’m sprinting down the street, dodging old ladies and their dogs. Seriously, why do they walk so slow? Finally, I get to the lab, and guess what? My boss, Dr. Rossi, is in a mood. He’s pacing like a caged lion. “Where have you been?” he barks. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just coffee!” But he doesn’t care. He’s all about the data. Ugh. So, we’re in this meeting, right? And he starts talking about some new project on enzymes. I zone out. Enzymes, schmenzymes. I mean, I love biochem, but come on! My mind drifts to the gelato shop on Via Mazzini. I can almost taste that pistachio goodness. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the piazza later!” I’m thinking, “Piazza? Like, the main square? In the middle of my workday?” But then I remember the last time I was there. The street performers, the vibe, the gelato! I’m torn. After the meeting, I’m back at my desk, trying to focus. But my mind keeps wandering. I’m daydreaming about the old church on Via Cavour. It’s so beautiful, right? The architecture, the history. But then I remember the last time I went there. I tripped over a cobblestone and almost face-planted. Classic me. Anyway, I finally finish my work. I’m outta there like a rocket. I head to the piazza, and it’s packed! People everywhere, music blasting. I spot Marco, and he’s waving like a maniac. I’m like, “What’s up, dude?” He hands me a cone of gelato, and I’m in heaven. But then, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I look up, and the pigeon’s just chilling on a statue, like it owns the place. I’m furious, but also kinda laughing. Only in Castelnovo-di-Sotto, right? So, I clean myself up, and we hit the street performers. There’s this guy juggling flaming torches. I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re gonna set yourself on fire!” But he’s nailing it. The crowd’s going wild. I’m clapping, laughing, feeling alive. Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, really rain. Everyone’s scrambling for cover. I’m soaked, but I don’t care. I’m with my friends, and we’re just laughing. We duck into a café on Via Roma, and it’s cozy. We order more gelato. Because why not? As the rain pours outside, we’re sharing stories, laughing about the day. I’m thinking about how crazy life is. One minute you’re in a boring lab, and the next you’re in a café, soaked, eating gelato with your buddies. Finally, the rain stops, and the sun peeks out. The piazza looks magical, all glistening. I’m feeling grateful, you know? Castelnovo-di-Sotto, with its quirky streets and vibrant life, always surprises me. So, I head home, exhausted but happy. I think about the day, the ups and downs. Life’s a wild ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? But for now, I’m just gonna crash. Peace out!
