Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Ceccano is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, Via Roma. I’m rollin’ up, ready to check on this ancient oak. You know, the one that’s been there since forever? It’s like the grandpa of trees. But guess what? Some genius decided to park their car right under it. Like, seriously? You think the tree’s gonna move? I’m fuming. I mean, come on, people! So, I’m standing there, trying to figure out how to get this car moved. I’m about to knock on doors, but then I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, climbing the tree. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna fall!” But he’s all, “Nah, I got this!” Kids, man. They’re fearless. I can’t help but smile. After a mini heart attack, I finally get the car moved. Turns out, the owner was just grabbing a coffee from that little café on the corner. You know, the one with the best pastries? I’m like, “Dude, you almost crushed a tree!” He just shrugs and says, “It’s just a tree.” I’m like, “Just a tree? It’s a living legend!” Next, I head over to Via della Libertà. There’s this massive sycamore that needs some serious TLC. I’m up in the tree, feeling like a monkey, when suddenly, I hear this loud crash. I look down, and some guy just dropped his gelato. I mean, it was a whole tragedy. He’s standing there, mouth agape, like he just lost a family member. I can’t help but laugh. But then, I see the gelato flavor. Pistachio. My fave! I’m like, “Dude, I’ll buy you another one if you give me a scoop of that fallen one.” He looks at me like I’m nuts, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. After that, I’m feeling pretty good. I finish up with the sycamore, and it’s looking fresh. I’m proud, ya know? But then, I get a call. There’s a storm coming. Like, a big one. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need.” I rush over to the park by the old castle. You know, the one that’s always packed with families? I’m trying to secure some branches before the wind turns into a tornado. I’m sweating bullets, and then it starts to rain. Not just a drizzle, but full-on monsoon. I’m soaked, and I’m like, “Why do I even do this?” But then, I see this family huddled under a tree, laughing and taking selfies. I’m like, “These people are nuts!” But it’s kinda heartwarming, too. They’re making the best of a bad situation. I can’t help but chuckle. Finally, I wrap up my day. I’m exhausted, but I feel good. I head to my favorite pizzeria on Via Garibaldi. You know the one with the wood-fired oven? I order a slice, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m sitting there, thinking about the day. Ceccano is wild, man. It’s got its quirks, its surprises. One minute you’re saving trees, the next you’re dodging falling gelato. But that’s what makes it home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, beautiful day in Ceccano. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
