Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, Ceprano is wild. Like, I woke up thinkin’ it’d be chill, just me and my sketchbook. But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m cruisin’ down Via Roma, right? Just vibin’ to my tunes, when BAM! A pigeon swoops down like it’s on a mission. I swear, it almost took my eye out! Like, dude, chill! I’m just tryna enjoy my morning coffee from that cute little café, Bar Centrale. Their cappuccinos are like liquid happiness, but that pigeon? Nah, man, not today. After that, I hit up the park, Parco della Rimembranza. It’s got these dope trees and a fountain that’s like, super Instagrammable. I’m sittin’ there sketching, and this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s like, “You know, back in my day…” and I’m thinkin’, here we go. But he’s actually cool, tells me about the history of Ceprano. Apparently, it’s been around since Roman times! Crazy, right? Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, I’m talkin’ torrential downpour. I’m sprinting down Via della Libertà, dodging puddles like I’m in some action movie. My sketchbook? Soaked. My heart? Broken. I’m like, “Why, universe, why?” But then, I see this little gelato shop, Gelateria Artigianale. I mean, who can resist gelato, right? I dash in, dripping wet, and the guy behind the counter just laughs. He hands me a cone of pistachio, and I’m like, “Dude, you’re my hero.” That gelato? Pure bliss. It’s like a hug for my soul. After my gelato rescue, I’m feelin’ better. I wander over to the ancient castle ruins, Castello dei Conti. It’s all crumbling and stuff, but there’s something magical about it. I’m sketching again, and this group of kids runs by, playing tag. They’re laughing, and I can’t help but smile. It’s like, despite the chaos, there’s joy everywhere. But then, I get a text from my buddy. He’s like, “Yo, meet me at the piazza!” So, I hustle over to Piazza della Repubblica. It’s the heart of Ceprano, and it’s always buzzing. I get there, and he’s late. Classic. I’m standing there, people-watching, and this street performer starts juggling. He’s not great, but he’s tryin’, and I respect that. Finally, my buddy shows up, and we hit up this local trattoria, Trattoria da Nino. The food is unreal. I’m talkin’ homemade pasta that makes you wanna cry. We’re laughing, sharing stories, and I’m just grateful for moments like this. But then, outta nowhere, this guy at the next table spills red wine all over his date. I mean, come on! It’s like a rom-com gone wrong. They’re both mortified, and I can’t help but chuckle. Life is just too funny sometimes. As the night winds down, I’m walking back home, and the streets are lit up. Ceprano looks magical at night. I pass by the old church, Chiesa di San Giovanni, and it’s all quiet. I stop for a sec, take a deep breath, and just soak it all in. Today was a rollercoaster. From pigeon attacks to gelato miracles, Ceprano never fails to surprise me. I’m exhausted but happy. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
