Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a Maiko, right? And today was just... ugh, intense. Like, I woke up in my little room on Via Roma, and the sun was shining. I thought, “Hey, today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I had to get my hair done. You know, the whole geisha get-up. It’s a process, man. I’m sittin’ there at the salon on Corso Garibaldi, and the lady’s like, “Hold still!” I’m like, “Lady, I’m trying to breathe here!” But whatever, I survived. My hair looked fab, though. Like, I could’ve been in a magazine or something. Then, I hit the streets. Cerano is wild, y’all. The cobblestones on Via Cavour are like a rollercoaster for my poor feet. I swear, I almost tripped over my own kimono. And don’t even get me started on the tourists. They’re everywhere! Taking pics, blocking the sidewalks. I’m like, “Excuse me, I’m a Maiko, not a photo op!” So, I’m walking, right? And I see this cute little café on Piazza della Libertà. I’m starving, so I pop in. The barista is super chill, and he’s got this amazing smile. I order a cappuccino, and he’s like, “You want it with extra foam?” I’m like, “Duh, who doesn’t?” While I’m waiting, I overhear this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. They’re talking about something ridiculous, like which gelato flavor is the best. I’m sitting there, sipping my coffee, thinking, “Y’all need to chill. It’s just gelato!” But then, I start to giggle. I mean, who fights over ice cream? After my caffeine fix, I head to the market on Via dei Mercanti. It’s buzzing! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all these cute little stalls. I’m browsing, and I spot this gorgeous silk scarf. I’m like, “I need this in my life!” But then, the vendor is like, “It’s 50 euros.” I’m like, “What?! For a scarf?!” I mean, come on! So, I’m haggling like a pro. “How about 20?” I say. He laughs, and we go back and forth. Finally, I get it for 30. Score! I’m feeling like a boss. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I’m sprinting down Via Mazzini, trying to keep my hair intact. Spoiler: I failed. My beautiful updo turned into a wet mess. I’m cursing the weather, thinking, “Why, Cerano, why?” I duck into a little shop to wait it out. It’s cozy, and the owner is super sweet. She offers me a towel and some pastries. I’m like, “You’re my new best friend!” We chat about life in Cerano, and she tells me about the best spots to visit. I’m taking mental notes, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Finally, the rain stops. I step outside, and the streets are glistening. It’s kinda magical, honestly. I stroll down to the river, and the view is breathtaking. The sun’s setting, casting this golden glow over everything. I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy just knocked over a whole cart of oranges. I can’t help but laugh. Like, really? Oranges everywhere! He’s scrambling to pick them up, and I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna need a bigger crew for that!” As I head home, I can’t help but think about the day. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised—like, all the feels. Cerano, you crazy city, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
