Man, what a day! I swear, Cervignano-del-Friuli is a wild ride. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m strolling down Via Roma, just vibin’, when I spot this cute little café. You know the one, right? Bar Pasticceria Caffè, where the pastries are like little bites of heaven. I grab a cappuccino, and it’s like a warm hug in a cup. But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco, like, “Dude, you gotta come to the market!” I’m like, “What market?” Turns out, it’s the weekly mercato on Piazza Garibaldi. I chug my coffee and sprint over. I’m dodging people left and right, feeling like I’m in some crazy obstacle course. When I get there, it’s packed! Fresh veggies, flowers, and all these local artisans. I’m in heaven. But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a bunch of tomatoes. Like, dude, chill! They’re not gold! I mean, who haggles over tomatoes? Anyway, I’m browsing, and I spot this amazing handmade pottery. I’m like, “I need this in my life!” But then, I realize I’m broke. Ugh! So, I just take a pic and move on. Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring! I’m talking torrential downpour. I dash for cover under the awning of a shop on Via Cavour. I’m soaked, and my hair looks like a wet mop. Classic! While I’m waiting it out, I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just standing there, eavesdropping like a total creep. The guy’s like, “You never listen!” and she’s like, “Well, you never talk!” I’m dying inside. Like, can’t you just take it to a café or something? Finally, the rain lets up, and I’m like, “Time to explore!” I wander down to the Parco della Rimembranza. It’s so peaceful there. I sit on a bench, just taking it all in. The trees, the birds, the random dog that just decided to sit next to me. I’m like, “Hey, buddy, you’re my new best friend.” But then, I get this wild idea. I wanna paint! I whip out my sketchbook and start doodling. I’m no Picasso, but it feels good. I’m lost in my world when this old lady walks by. She stops, looks at my doodles, and says, “Bellissimo!” I’m like, “Thanks, lady! You just made my day!” But then, my stomach growls. I’m starving! I head over to this little pizzeria on Via Garibaldi. I order a slice, and it’s like a slice of heaven. Seriously, the cheese is gooey, the crust is crispy. I’m in pizza paradise. As I’m munching, I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s so catchy! I can’t help but tap my foot. I throw a couple of coins in his hat, and he gives me a nod. I’m like, “Yeah, I’m a patron of the arts now!” But then, I get a text from Marco again. “Where you at?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m living my best life!” But I gotta meet him. So, I finish my pizza and head back. On my way, I pass by the old church, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. It’s stunning! I stop to take a pic, and this random kid runs by, almost knocks me over. I’m like, “Watch it, kid!” But he just laughs and keeps running. Kids, man. Finally, I meet Marco at this bar on Via Trieste. He’s already three drinks in. Classic Marco! We chat about the day, and I’m like, “You won’t believe the craziness!” As the sun sets, I’m feeling all the feels. Happy, exhausted, and a bit tipsy. Cervignano-del-Friuli, you’ve been a trip! I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
