Man, what a day! Seriously, Codroipo, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day in this little gem of a town. But nah, Codroipo had other plans. First off, I strolled down Via Roma, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was feeling all spiritual and stuff. But then, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, really? I’m a clergyman, not a pigeon target! I laughed it off, though. Gotta have a sense of humor, right? So, I head over to the church, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. Beautiful place, man. The frescoes are stunning. But today, the vibe was off. I walk in, and there’s this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I’m thinking, “C’mon, guys, this is a holy place!” But they didn’t care. I tried to intervene, but they just looked at me like I was a ghost. So, I backed off. Not my circus, not my monkeys, right? After that, I decided to take a breather. I wandered over to Piazza Garibaldi. It’s usually so peaceful. But today? Nope. There was a street performer, and he was terrible! I mean, bless his heart, but he was butchering “O Sole Mio.” I almost cried. But then, this little kid starts dancing, and I couldn’t help but smile. Kids have that magic, ya know? Then, I bumped into my buddy Marco at the café on Via Cavour. We grabbed some espresso. I needed it after that morning. Marco’s always got the latest gossip. Apparently, the mayor’s planning to renovate the old castle. I mean, it’s cool and all, but do we really need another tourist trap? Codroipo’s charm is in its simplicity! But then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes up to us. She’s waving her hands, speaking in rapid-fire Italian. I caught “pasta” and “nonna,” so I figured she was offering us food. Turns out, she was inviting us to her house for lunch. I couldn’t say no! We get to her place, and it’s like stepping into a time machine. Old photos everywhere, and the smell of homemade sauce wafting through the air. She served us the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. I was in heaven! I told her she should open a restaurant. She laughed and said, “Only if you help me!” After lunch, I felt like a new man. But then, I had to head back to the church for evening service. On the way, I passed by the old mill on Via delle Vigne. It’s such a cool spot, but it’s falling apart. I thought about how much history is in this town. Codroipo’s got stories, man. Service was packed. Everyone was there, and I felt the love. But then, right in the middle of my sermon, my phone buzzed. I thought it was a sign from above, but nah, it was just a meme from my niece. I had to stifle a laugh. Afterward, I chatted with some folks. They were all buzzing about the upcoming festival. I love the vibe during that time. The food, the music, the people! Codroipo really knows how to throw a party. But then, as I was leaving, I saw that couple from earlier. They were holding hands now, looking all lovey-dovey. I guess the church works its magic after all. So, I wrapped up my day, feeling all sorts of emotions. Codroipo, you’re a wild ride. From pigeon poop to homemade gnocchi, you keep me on my toes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
