Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a barber in Col-San-Martino is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I roll into the shop on Via Roma, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First client walks in. It’s old Mr. Gallo. This dude’s like 80 but thinks he’s still 20. He sits down, and I swear, he starts talkin’ about the “good ol’ days” when he used to run around the piazza like a madman. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Dude, you need a haircut, not a history lesson.” He’s got hair sproutin’ out like a wild bush on Via Garibaldi. I’m tryin’ to focus, but he keeps rambling about how the gelato at Gelateria San Martino was better back in his day. Like, come on, man! It’s gelato! It’s always good! Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Luca bursts in. He’s all outta breath, lookin’ like he just ran a marathon. “Bro, you won’t believe it!” he yells. I’m thinkin’, “What now?” Turns out, he just saw a couple of tourists get lost on Via della Libertà. They were lookin’ for the church, but ended up at the wrong gelato place. Classic! I can’t help but laugh. I mean, who gets lost in a small town like this? It’s like a maze, but a tiny one! So, I finish up with Mr. Gallo, and he tips me with a handful of coins. I’m like, “Thanks, man, but I prefer cash.” He just chuckles and leaves. Next up is this young guy, Marco. He’s got that trendy haircut, you know? The one that takes longer to style than it does to cut. He’s all about the latest fashion trends. I’m just here with my scissors, tryin’ to keep up. He starts talkin’ about the new bar that opened on Via Cavour. Apparently, it’s the place to be. I’m thinkin’, “Great, another place to spend my hard-earned cash.” But then, BAM! The power goes out. Just like that. I’m in the middle of a cut, and the lights go dark. I’m like, “What the heck?!” Marco’s hair is half-done, and he’s lookin’ at me like I’m about to ruin his life. I grab my phone, turn on the flashlight, and keep snippin’. Gotta love the hustle, right? After a few minutes, the lights flicker back on. Thank goodness! But then, I hear this loud crash outside. I rush to the window, and what do I see? A delivery guy just wiped out on his bike right in front of the café on Piazza della Repubblica. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, it’s a little sad, but come on! The guy’s okay, just a bit embarrassed. He gets up, brushes himself off, and goes right back to delivering. That’s the spirit! Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but happy. I clean up the shop, and as I’m locking up, I see the sunset over the hills. Col-San-Martino looks beautiful, all those colors lighting up the sky. I take a deep breath, and for a moment, everything feels right. But then, I remember I forgot to eat all day. My stomach growls like a bear. I head to my favorite pizzeria on Via della Libertà. I order a slice, and as I’m waiting, I overhear some locals talking about the upcoming festival. They’re all excited, and I can’t help but feel that buzz too. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of craziness, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in Col-San-Martino, where every corner has a story, and every haircut comes with a side of drama. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
