Man, what a day! I’m an ichthyologist, right? So, I’m all about fish and stuff. But today? Today was a wild ride in Copertino. Like, seriously, who knew this little town could throw so much at ya? First off, I woke up late. Classic me. Alarm didn’t go off. I’m scrambling, throwing on my favorite “Fish are Friends” tee. I mean, priorities, right? I rush outta my apartment on Via Roma, and boom! I trip over my own feet. Great start, huh? So, I’m hustling down the street, dodging tourists and their selfie sticks. Like, chill, people! It’s just a fountain! Anyway, I finally make it to the Copertino Castle. It’s this old fortress, super cool, but I’m not here for the history lesson. I’m here to check out the local fish market. Gotta get my hands on some fresh specimens for my research. I get to the market, and it’s packed. I mean, like sardines in a can packed. I’m trying to squeeze through, and this old dude just cuts me off. I’m like, “Dude, really? You’re gonna block the fish guy?” But whatever, I let it slide. I’m not here to start a fish fight. Finally, I get to the stall. The fishmonger, this grumpy guy named Marco, is like, “You again?” I’m like, “Yeah, Marco, it’s me! The fish whisperer!” He rolls his eyes. Classic Marco. But then he shows me this stunning sea bass. I’m talking glistening scales, fresh as can be. I’m in love. I buy it, and I’m feeling like a champ. But then, as I’m leaving, I spot this little café on Via San Giuseppe. I’m starving, so I pop in for a quick bite. I order a panini, and while I’m waiting, I overhear this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I’m trying to enjoy my food, but they’re ruining the vibe. I mean, come on, it’s Copertino! Chill out! After my panini, I decide to take a stroll. I hit up the Piazza del Popolo. It’s beautiful, man. The sun’s shining, kids are playing, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and lands on my shoulder. I freak out! I’m flailing my arms like a madman. People are staring. I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a bird feeder!” So, I finally shake off the pigeon and head to the local library. I’m looking for some research materials. I walk in, and it’s dead quiet. I love that. But then, I accidentally knock over a stack of books. They go crashing down. I’m mortified! The librarian gives me this death stare. I’m like, “Sorry! Just trying to learn about fish!” After that, I’m feeling a bit drained. I decide to grab a gelato from this little shop on Via Vittorio Emanuele. Best decision ever! I get pistachio, and it’s heavenly. I’m sitting outside, enjoying my gelato, when I see this street performer. He’s juggling fish! Like, actual fish! I can’t even. I’m laughing so hard, I almost drop my gelato. As the day winds down, I’m walking back to my place, reflecting on the madness. Copertino is wild, man. It’s got charm, chaos, and a whole lotta fish. I’m exhausted but happy. I love this town, even with its crazy moments. So yeah, that was my day. Just another adventure in Copertino. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
