Man, what a day! I swear, Corato really knows how to throw a curveball. Woke up this morning, sun shining, birds chirping, you know the vibe. I’m a Makhaut, so I’m all about that good energy. But boy, did that change fast. First off, I hit up Via Cavour for my morning espresso. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting, and this guy in front of me orders like 10 different things. Like, dude, it’s a coffee shop, not a buffet! I’m losing my patience, but whatever. Finally, I get my shot of caffeine, and it’s like heaven in a cup. I’m feeling good again. Then I stroll down to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. It’s packed, as usual. Tourists everywhere, snapping pics like they’re in a movie. I’m just trying to enjoy the vibe, but this one kid runs into me. I spill my coffee all over my shirt. Ugh! I’m fuming. Like, come on, kid! Watch where you’re going! But then I see his face, and he’s just so innocent. Can’t stay mad at that. So, I decide to take a walk down Via Roma. It’s one of my fave streets. The shops, the people, the energy! I pop into this little bakery, and OMG, the smell! Fresh focaccia, pastries, you name it. I grab a slice of focaccia, and it’s like a party in my mouth. I’m happy again. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I look up, and it’s sunny one minute, pouring the next. I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into a nearby bar, and it’s packed. Everyone’s crammed in, trying to escape the rain. I’m squished between this old lady and a guy who smells like he just ran a marathon. Not ideal, but hey, at least I’m dry. While I’m waiting for the rain to chill, I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just standing there, sipping my drink, trying not to laugh. The guy’s like, “You never listen!” and she’s like, “Well, you never talk!” Classic. I’m thinking, man, relationships are wild. Finally, the rain stops, and I’m back on the streets. I head towards the old town, you know, where all the cool history is. I’m wandering around, checking out the old churches and stuff. Corato has this vibe, man. It’s like the past and present are having a party together. Then I bump into my buddy Marco. He’s always got some crazy story. Today, he tells me about this time he tried to impress a girl by cooking. Spoiler alert: he burned the pasta. I’m dying laughing. Like, who burns pasta? Only Marco, man. As the sun starts to set, I’m feeling reflective. Corato is beautiful, with its old stone buildings and narrow streets. I love this place. But then, I remember I left my phone at that bar. Panic mode activated! I sprint back, dodging people like I’m in a video game. I get there, and thank the gods, my phone is still there! I grab it, and the bartender gives me a look like, “You really thought you’d lost it?” I just laugh it off. By the time I head home, I’m exhausted but happy. Corato, you crazy city, you’ve given me a day full of ups and downs. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a Makhaut, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
