Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a shearer in Corbetta is no joke. Woke up this mornin’ feelin’ like a million bucks, but boy, did that change fast. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, right? The sun’s peekin’ through my window on Via Roma. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. Grabbed a quick espresso at my fave spot, Bar Centrale. You know, the one with the best pastries? Yeah, that one. I swear, their cornetti are like little bites of heaven. Anyway, I’m sippin’ my coffee, and suddenly, I hear this loud crash outside. I rush out, and what do I see? A delivery truck smashed into a lamppost on Via Garibaldi! Like, seriously? Who even does that? The driver’s just sittin’ there, lookin’ dazed. I’m like, “Dude, you good?” He just shrugs. Classic Corbetta chaos, am I right? So, I head to the sheep farm, which is just outside the city. It’s a bit of a trek, but I love the fresh air. The fields are all green, and the mountains in the distance? Gorgeous! But then, I get there, and guess what? The sheep are all riled up. I mean, they’re bleatin’ like they just heard the worst joke ever. Turns out, one of ‘em got loose and was runnin’ around like a maniac. I’m chasin’ this sheep down the dirt road, and I’m thinkin’, “This is not how I pictured my day.” I finally catch it near the old fountain on Piazza della Libertà. You know, the one that’s always got kids splashin’ around? Yeah, that fountain. I’m outta breath, but I’m laughin’ at the absurdity of it all. After wranglin’ the sheep, I finally get to shear. It’s hot, and I’m sweatin’ like crazy. But hey, the sheep are lookin’ good, and I’m feelin’ accomplished. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Marco shows up. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s tellin’ me about this time he tried to impress a girl at the bar on Via Cavour. Spoiler: it didn’t go well. He ended up spillin’ his drink all over her. Classic Marco! As the day goes on, I’m feelin’ pretty good. But then, I get a call. My sister’s in town, and she wants to meet up. I’m like, “Sure, why not?” But then I remember, she’s always late. So, I head to the park near the old church, Chiesa di San Vittore. I’m sittin’ there, watchin’ the sunset, and it’s beautiful. But I’m also thinkin’, “Where is she?” Finally, she shows up, and she’s got this huge grin. Turns out, she brought me a slice of pizza from Pizzeria Da Michele. I mean, who can resist that? We sit there, eatin’ pizza, laughin’ about the day. I tell her about the sheep, and she’s crackin’ up. But then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, seriously? I’m thinkin’, “This day just keeps gettin’ better.” We dash for cover under a tree, and I’m soaked. But we’re laughin’ and just enjoyin’ the moment. By the time the rain stops, I’m feelin’ grateful. Corbetta’s got its quirks, but it’s home. The streets, the people, the chaos—it’s all part of the charm. I head back home, exhausted but happy. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of madness. Just another day in Corbetta, I guess!
