Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a machinist in Cori is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via Roma. I’m like, “Great, another scorcher.” I grab my coffee—strong enough to wake the dead—and head out. First stop, the workshop on Via della Libertà. I’m all pumped, ready to fix some machines. But guess what? The lathe’s acting up. Like, seriously? It’s makin’ this weird grinding noise. I’m like, “C’mon, not today!” I swear, machines have a sixth sense for when you’re already stressed. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Marco shows up. He’s got this wild idea to hit up the market on Piazza della Repubblica. I’m like, “Dude, I got work!” But he’s all, “C’mon, just a quick break.” So, I’m like, “Fine, but just a quick one.” We stroll through the market, and man, it’s packed! Vendors shoutin’ about fresh produce, and I’m just tryin’ to dodge people. I spot this old lady selling the best olives. I can’t resist. I grab a bag, and she’s like, “For you, my friend, special price!” I’m thinkin’, “She’s just buttering me up for more.” But hey, I’m not complainin’. Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica, and it’s pouring! I’m soaked in seconds. Marco’s laughin’ his head off. I’m like, “This is NOT how I wanted my day to go!” We dash back to the workshop, and I’m drippin’ all over the floor. My boss, Luca, sees me and just shakes his head. “You look like a drowned rat!” he says. I’m like, “Thanks for the compliment, Luca.” Finally, I get back to work. The lathe’s still being a pain. I’m cursing under my breath, thinking about how I could be chillin’ at the bar on Via Garibaldi instead. But no, I’m here, wrestling with this machine. Then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m sittin’ there in the dark, and I can hear Marco snickering. “This is a sign, man. Let’s go grab a drink!” I’m like, “Dude, we can’t just leave!” But honestly, the thought is tempting. After what feels like an eternity, the lights flicker back on. I’m back to work, but my patience is shot. I’m thinkin’ about that gelato place on Via dei Fiori. I need a treat after this madness. Finally, I finish up, and I’m outta there. I hit up that gelato spot, and oh man, it’s like heaven in a cone. I get pistachio, my fave. I’m sittin’ on a bench in the sun, just enjoying life. But then, I see this kid on a bike, and he crashes right in front of me. I’m like, “Oh no!” He’s fine, just a little scraped up. But his bike? Total wreck. I help him out, and he’s all grateful. Makes me feel good, ya know? As the sun sets over Cori, I’m walkin’ home, thinkin’ about the day. It was a mess, but it was MY mess. I love this city, with its crazy streets and unexpected moments. Cori, you wild, but I wouldn’t trade ya for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Just another day in Cori, full of chaos and charm. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
