Man, what a day! I swear, Corigliano-Calabro is a wild ride. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day in this beautiful little town. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit up Via Nazionale for my morning coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m talking about that rich, dark espresso that slaps you awake. I’m standing there, waiting, and this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s like, “You know, the best view is from Castello Ducale.” I’m like, “Yeah, I know, but I’m not climbing that hill today.” So, I grab my coffee and head to the park. It’s a nice spot, right? But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs past me, chasing a soccer ball. He kicks it, and boom! It hits my leg. I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” But he just laughs and runs off. Kids, man. They’re fearless. After that, I decide to stroll down Via Roma. It’s bustling, people everywhere. I love the vibe, but it’s a bit much sometimes. I see this street vendor selling arancini. I can’t resist. I grab one, and it’s like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I’m talking crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. Heaven! But then, I see this guy arguing with a woman. They’re going at it, and I’m just standing there, sipping my coffee, thinking, “This is why I don’t do relationships.” I mean, who needs that drama? Next, I head to the beach. It’s a bit of a trek, but I need that sea breeze. I’m walking along the Lungomare, and it’s gorgeous. The waves are crashing, the sun is shining. I’m feeling good, right? But then, I step in some dog poop. Ugh! Seriously? Who doesn’t clean up after their dog? I finally make it to the beach, and it’s packed. Families, kids, sunbathers. I plop down on the sand, and just as I’m about to relax, this group of teenagers starts blasting music. Like, come on! Can’t a person chill in peace? But then, I see this little girl building a sandcastle. She’s so focused, and it’s adorable. I can’t help but smile. Kids really know how to enjoy life, huh? As the sun starts to set, I decide to head back. I take a different route, through the narrow streets of Corigliano. They’re so charming, with all the old buildings and colorful doors. I love it here. But then, I get lost. Like, seriously lost. I’m wandering around, and I’m like, “Where the heck am I?” Finally, I find my way back to Via Nazionale. I’m exhausted but happy. I grab some gelato—because, duh, it’s a must. I sit on a bench, enjoying my treat, and just take it all in. The sounds, the smells, the people. And then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, really rain. I’m scrambling to find cover, and I end up ducking into a little shop. The owner’s super nice, offers me a towel. I’m like, “Thanks, man! You just saved my day!” So, I’m sitting there, soaking wet, but laughing. This day was a rollercoaster. From coffee to chaos, from beach bliss to getting lost. Corigliano-Calabro, you’ve got my heart. Even with all the craziness, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I finally head home, drenched but smiling. What a day! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
