Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from all the craziness in Cornuda. Like, who knew this little town could pack such a punch? So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this dude in front of me orders a macchiato. Like, bro, it’s 8 AM! Who drinks that at this hour? Anyway, I finally get my drink, and it’s like liquid gold. I take a sip, and BAM! I’m awake. Then I decide to stroll down to Piazza della Libertà. It’s a cute little square, but today? It was packed! I mean, like, people everywhere. Kids running around, old folks chatting, and this one guy playing the accordion. I’m not even kidding. It was like a scene from a movie. I’m just trying to enjoy my coffee, and this kid runs by, spills his gelato all over my shoes. Ugh! I was so mad! Like, come on, kid! But then, I see this old lady sitting on a bench. She’s got this huge smile, and she’s feeding pigeons. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, who feeds pigeons in 2023? But she’s living her best life, and I’m here grumbling about my shoes. So, I sit next to her, and we start chatting. Her name’s Maria, and she’s lived in Cornuda her whole life. She tells me about the old days, how the streets used to be empty, and now it’s all hustle and bustle. I’m like, “Wow, Maria, you’re a legend!” After that, I decide to check out Via Cavour. It’s got this cool vibe, with shops and stuff. I pop into this little boutique, and the owner is super friendly. She’s showing me these handmade scarves, and I’m thinking, “Do I need a scarf? It’s not even cold!” But she’s so passionate about her stuff, I end up buying one. It’s bright orange, totally not my color, but whatever. Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m sprinting down the street, trying to find shelter. I duck into this little café on Via Garibaldi. It’s cozy, and the smell of pastries is heavenly. I order a slice of tiramisu, and let me tell you, it was the best decision ever. I’m sitting there, watching the rain, feeling all philosophical. Like, life is weird, man. One minute you’re mad about gelato on your shoes, and the next you’re eating tiramisu and contemplating existence. When the rain finally stops, I head over to the local market. It’s buzzing with energy. Fresh fruits, veggies, and this guy selling homemade cheese. I’m like, “Yes, please!” I grab some cheese and chat with the vendors. They’re all super friendly, and I’m feeling the Cornuda love. But then, I see this guy trying to haggle over a tomato. A TOMATO! I mean, come on, dude! It’s not that serious! I can’t help but laugh. The vendor’s just rolling his eyes, and I’m thinking, “This is the drama I live for!” As the day winds down, I’m walking back to my car, and I can’t help but feel grateful. Cornuda, with its quirky streets and colorful characters, has a charm that’s hard to resist. I mean, yeah, I had my moments of frustration, but that’s life, right? It’s all about the ups and downs. So, I hop in my car, and as I drive away, I’m already planning my next trip back. Cornuda, you’ve got my heart. Until next time!
