Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a lumberjack ain’t just about swingin’ an axe and choppin’ wood. Nah, today was a wild ride in Crescentino. I woke up thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day, but boy, was I wrong! So, I roll outta bed, grab my coffee, and head out. Crescentino, this little gem in Piemonte, is usually pretty quiet. But today? Nah, not a chance. I’m cruisin’ down Via Roma, and I swear, it felt like a circus. Cars honkin’, people shoutin’, and I’m just tryin’ to get to the woods. First thing that got me riled up? This dude on a bike. He zooms past me, almost takin’ my leg off! I yell, “Hey, watch it, Speed Racer!” He just gives me a thumbs up. Like, really? You almost turned me into a pancake, and you’re givin’ me a thumbs up? Ugh! Finally, I make it to the woods. Ah, sweet relief. Trees everywhere, smell of pine. But then, I see it. A bunch of kids playin’ hide and seek. They’re screamin’ and laughin’, and I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what I need. A bunch of tiny humans in my work zone.” But then, one of ‘em trips and falls. I can’t help but chuckle. Kids, man. They bounce back like rubber balls. After a bit, I get into the groove. Swingin’ my axe, feelin’ like a king. But then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. I mean, come on! I’m out here tryin’ to earn my keep, and Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum. I’m soaked, and my wood’s gettin’ all soggy. Not cool, not cool at all. So, I pack it up and head back to town. I’m walkin’ down Via Cavour, and I see this little café. The smell of fresh pastries hits me like a freight train. I can’t resist. I pop in, order a cappuccino and a cornetto. Best decision ever! That pastry was like a hug for my soul. While I’m munchin’, I overhear some locals talkin’ about the festival comin’ up. They’re all hyped about it. “Crescentino’s Fiera!” they say. I’m thinkin’, “Man, I gotta check that out.” I mean, who doesn’t love a good festival? Food, music, and maybe some dancing? Count me in! But then, I step outside, and guess what? My truck won’t start. Just my luck, right? I’m standin’ there, lookin’ like a lost puppy. I try to crank it a few times, but nope. Dead as a doornail. I’m about to lose it. I mean, I just wanna go home, kick back, and forget this day ever happened. Finally, this old guy walks by. He’s got this huge grin, and he says, “Need a hand, son?” I’m like, “Yeah, if you got a magic wand, that’d be great.” But he pulls out some tools and gets to work. Turns out, he used to be a mechanic. After a bit of tinkerin’, my truck roars to life! I’m so relieved, I could hug the guy. Instead, I just shake his hand and thank him like a million times. I finally head home, and as I’m drivin’ through Crescentino, I can’t help but smile. Yeah, today was a rollercoaster. But it’s my town, with its quirky streets and friendly folks. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even if it means dodging bikes and dealin’ with rain. So, here I am, sittin’ on my porch, drinkin’ a beer, and thinkin’ about tomorrow. Who knows what’s in store? But whatever it is, I’m ready. Bring it on, Crescentino!
