Man, what a day! Seriously, Dairago, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day interpreting. Boy, was I wrong! So, I’m cruising down Via Roma, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be great!” But then, BAM! I step in a puddle. Like, who even leaves a puddle there? Ugh! My shoes are soaked. Great start, huh? I get to the community center on Via Garibaldi. It’s packed! I mean, like, sardines in a can packed. Everyone’s buzzing about this big event. Turns out, it’s a workshop for deaf kids. Super cool, right? But also, super chaotic. Kids everywhere, running, laughing, signing like their lives depend on it. I love it! But also, I’m like, “Chill, kiddos!” Then, this one kid, Luca, he’s a firecracker. He’s signing so fast, I’m like, “Dude, slow down!” But he’s just so excited. I can’t help but smile. He’s got this energy that’s contagious. Makes me forget about my wet shoes for a sec. But then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off! Like, seriously? In the middle of all this? Everyone’s freaking out. Kids are crying, parents are yelling. I’m trying to keep it together, signing, “It’s okay! Let’s go outside!” But my heart’s racing. I’m like, “This is not in the job description!” We finally get outside on Via Mazzini, and it’s chaos. Fire trucks zooming in, sirens blaring. I’m standing there, trying to calm everyone down. I mean, I’m an interpreter, not a firefighter! But hey, I’m doing my best. After a while, they figure out it was a false alarm. Phew! But now, everyone’s outside, and the sun’s blazing. I’m sweating like crazy. And guess what? Luca runs up to me, all smiles, and says, “Can we do the workshop outside?” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So, we set up on the grass near the park. It’s actually kinda nice. Kids are signing, laughing, and I’m just vibing. I even join in a little, trying to keep up with their energy. It’s wild! Then, outta nowhere, this ice cream truck rolls by. I mean, come on! Who can resist ice cream? I’m like, “Alright, kids, let’s take a break!” We all run over, and I grab a cone. It’s melting everywhere, but I don’t care. It’s a moment of pure joy. But then, I see this lady on the corner of Via Roma and Via Garibaldi. She’s struggling with her groceries. I’m like, “Oh man, I gotta help!” So, I dash over, ice cream in hand, and help her carry her bags. She’s super grateful, and I’m feeling like a hero for a sec. But then, I trip. Yup, right in front of her. Ice cream goes flying! It’s like slow-mo. I’m just standing there, mortified. She’s laughing, and I’m like, “Great, now I’m the ice cream guy who can’t even hold a cone!” Finally, the day winds down. We head back inside, and I’m exhausted but happy. Dairago, you’ve thrown me through the wringer today! But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The kids, the chaos, the ice cream – it’s all part of the ride. As I walk home down Via Roma, I can’t help but think about how wild life is. One minute you’re soaked, the next you’re covered in ice cream, and then you’re helping someone out. Dairago, you’re a trip! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
