Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Filottrano is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First call comes in at 8 AM. Some dude on Via Roma is locked outta his car. I’m like, “Bro, did you forget your keys again?” Classic. But hey, I send someone over. Meanwhile, I’m sippin’ my coffee, tryin’ to wake up. Filottrano’s got this vibe, ya know? Small town, but full of life. The streets are narrow, and the buildings are all old-school charm. Love it. Then, BAM! Another call. A cat stuck in a tree on Via Garibaldi. Seriously? A cat? I mean, I get it, cats are cute and all, but c’mon! I’m dispatching a whole team for a fluffy diva? But whatever, I send the guys. They love that stuff. By 10 AM, I’m already frazzled. My phone’s blowin’ up. A lady on Via della Repubblica is complainin’ about noise. I’m like, “Lady, it’s Filottrano! We got a festival comin’ up!” But she’s not havin’ it. “It’s too loud!” she yells. I’m thinkin’, “You live in a town with a history, embrace it!” But I just nod and say, “We’ll check it out.” Then, outta nowhere, I get a call about a street fight on Via Mazzini. Great. Just what I need. I send the squad, and I’m pacing like a caged animal. I can’t believe this is happening in my town! I mean, we’re known for our olive oil, not brawls! While I’m waitin’ for updates, I start thinkin’ about how Filottrano’s got this rich history. Like, did you know it was founded in the 12th century? Crazy, right? But here I am, dealin’ with a cat in a tree and a street fight. Finally, the guys get back. Turns out, it was just two dudes arguing over a parking spot. I’m like, “Really? You guys fought over a spot on Via Mazzini?” I can’t even. By noon, I’m ready for a break. I grab a slice of pizza from my fave spot, Pizzeria Da Marco. Best pizza in town, hands down. I’m munchin’ on my slice, thinkin’ life’s good again. But then, my phone rings. A car accident on Via delle Vigne. Ugh! I rush to dispatch help. I’m feelin’ all kinds of emotions. Angry, worried, you name it. I just want everyone to be safe. When the crew gets there, I hear it’s a fender bender. Thank goodness! But then, I find out one of the drivers is my neighbor. Great. Now I gotta deal with that awkwardness. The day drags on. More calls, more chaos. A lost dog on Via della Libertà. A broken water main on Via del Convento. I’m like, “What’s next? An alien invasion?” Finally, around 5 PM, I get a breather. I sit back, take a deep breath, and think about how much I love this town. Filottrano’s got its quirks, but it’s home. The people, the streets, the history. It’s all part of the ride. As I wrap up my day, I can’t help but laugh. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. But that’s what makes being a dispatcher in Filottrano so damn special. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
