Man, what a day in Fiuggi! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but chill. First off, I’m supposed to meet a group at Piazza Trento e Trieste. Classic spot, right? But guess what? I’m late. Like, really late. I sprint down Via Roma, dodging tourists and their selfie sticks. Ugh, I swear, if I see one more person posing with the fountain, I might lose it. Finally, I get there, and my group’s already waiting. They look like they’re about to start a riot. I’m like, “Hey, sorry, traffic!” But they’re not buying it. I mean, c’mon, it’s Fiuggi! How bad can traffic be? Turns out, pretty bad when you’re running late. So, we start the tour, and I’m trying to keep the vibe up. We hit up the famous Fiuggi springs. You know, the ones that are supposed to be magical or whatever? I’m all about that wellness life, but honestly, the water tastes like... well, let’s just say it’s not winning any awards. I see a couple of my group members grimace after their first sip. Classic. Then we stroll down Via delle Terme. It’s beautiful, right? But I’m trying to keep the energy up, and I’m cracking jokes. “This street is so nice, even the pigeons look fancy!” But no one’s laughing. I’m like, “C’mon, people! It’s a joke!” Next, we hit the historic center. I’m feeling good, showing off the medieval architecture. I mean, the buildings are stunning! But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m in Fiuggi, not London! I’m scrambling to find cover, and my group is just standing there, looking at me like I’m the weather man. I finally find a café on Via Cavour. We duck in, and I’m like, “Okay, let’s grab some coffee and wait it out.” But the barista? She’s super slow. I’m talking molasses in January slow. I’m losing my mind. I’m thinking, “I could’ve brewed this at home in half the time!” After what feels like an eternity, we finally get our drinks. I take a sip, and it’s like heaven. I’m back in the game! I start telling them about the history of Fiuggi, how it was a spa town back in the day. I’m all animated, waving my hands around. But then, I spill my coffee all over the table. Great. Just great. We finally head back out, and the rain’s stopped. Thank goodness! We wander through the narrow streets, and I’m feeling the vibe again. I’m showing them the old castle ruins, and I’m like, “This is where the magic happens!” But then, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m on the ground, and my group’s laughing. I’m laughing too, but inside, I’m like, “Why do I always do this?” As we wrap up the tour, I’m feeling a mix of emotions. Happy, frustrated, and a bit exhausted. But Fiuggi? It’s got this charm that just pulls you in. I mean, the views from the hills are insane! You can see the whole valley. I’m standing there, taking it all in, and I’m like, “This is why I do this job.” So, yeah, it was a wild day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s what makes it fun, right? Fiuggi, you’ve got my heart, even if you made me spill my coffee. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
