Man, what a day! I swear, Follonica really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a bone cutter, right? Yeah, sounds gnarly, but it’s my jam. Anyway, I woke up this morning, sun shining, birds chirping, you know the vibe. I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up Via Roma for my morning espresso. Best coffee in town, no cap. I’m standing there, waiting for my shot of caffeine, and this dude in front of me spills his cappuccino all over the counter. Like, bro, how do you even manage that? I’m just trying to get my fix, and now I’m dodging coffee like it’s a game of dodgeball. Finally, I get my drink, and I’m outta there. I stroll down to the clinic on Via della Libertà, feeling all pumped. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “We got an emergency!” Great. Just what I needed. I rush over, and it turns out we got a guy who’s had a nasty accident. Like, bone sticking out nasty. I’m talking horror movie stuff. So, I’m in the OR, and it’s chaos. I’m cutting, stitching, and trying not to lose my lunch. The guy’s screaming, and I’m like, “Dude, I get it, but can you chill for a sec?” I mean, I’m trying to save your leg here! After that madness, I step outside for some air. I’m on the corner of Via della Repubblica, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s not half bad. I’m standing there, tapping my foot, and for a moment, I forget about the blood and guts. Follonica’s got this vibe, you know? The sea breeze, the sound of the waves crashing. It’s beautiful. But then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches my sandwich right outta my hand! Like, what the heck, man? I’m just trying to enjoy my lunch! I’m yelling at the bird, and people are staring. I’m like, “Yeah, laugh it up, folks. I just got robbed by a bird.” After that, I head back to the clinic, and it’s still crazy. More patients, more drama. I’m running on fumes, and my back is killing me. I take a quick break and grab a gelato from that little shop on the corner of Via Garibaldi. Best gelato ever! I get the pistachio, and it’s like heaven in a cup. But then, I get a call from my buddy Marco. He’s at the beach, and he’s like, “Dude, you gotta come! The waves are sick!” I’m torn. Work’s piling up, but the beach? C’mon! I can practically hear the waves calling my name. So, I finish up my shift, and I bolt to the beach. Follonica’s coastline is stunning, man. The sun’s setting, painting the sky all kinds of orange and pink. I grab my board and hit the water. The waves are perfect, and I’m riding them like a pro. For a moment, all the stress melts away. But then, I wipe out. Hard. I’m flailing around, trying to get back on my board, and I’m pretty sure I swallowed half the sea. I come up gasping, and Marco’s laughing his head off. “You good, bro?” Yeah, just living my best life, thanks! As the sun dips below the horizon, I sit on the beach, soaking it all in. Follonica, with its crazy streets and wild moments, it’s home. I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Life’s a wild ride, and I’m just trying to hang on. So, yeah, that was my day. Bone cutting, bird robbers, and beach waves. Just another day in Follonica, right?
