Man, what a day! I swear, Fondi really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a bone cutter, right? Yeah, sounds wild, but it’s my jam. Anyway, I woke up this morning, sun shining, birds chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First off, I hit up Via Roma for my morning espresso. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my caffeine fix, and this old dude starts chatting me up about the weather. Like, bro, it’s Italy! It’s always sunny! But he’s going on about how it rained last week. I’m like, “Yeah, okay, but I’m not here for a weather report.” Finally, I get my coffee, and it’s like liquid gold. I down it in two gulps and head to work. So, I’m at the clinic on Via San Francesco, right? Just another day of slicing and dicing bones. But today, oh man, today was different. I get this emergency call. Some kid, like, 12 years old, broke his leg playing soccer. I rush over, heart racing. I mean, kids and bones? That’s my thing, but it still gets to me. When I get there, the kid’s crying, and his mom is freaking out. I’m trying to be all calm and collected, but inside, I’m like, “What if I mess this up?” I mean, I’ve done this a million times, but still! So, I start talking to the kid, trying to lighten the mood. I’m like, “Hey, you’ll be the coolest kid on crutches!” He cracks a smile, and I’m like, “Yes! I’m winning!” But then, just as I’m about to start, the power goes out. Like, seriously? In the middle of a procedure? I’m standing there with my tools, and it’s pitch black. I’m cursing under my breath, thinking, “This is not how I wanted my day to go.” The mom’s panicking, the kid’s crying again, and I’m just like, “Can someone please fix the lights?” Finally, after what feels like an eternity, the lights flicker back on. I get back to work, and it’s all good. The kid’s leg is fixed, and he’s all smiles. I’m feeling like a hero, you know? But then, as I’m cleaning up, I step on something. It’s a toy car. I look down, and it’s a Hot Wheels. I can’t help but laugh. Like, how did this end up here? After that, I head out to grab some lunch. I stroll down Via della Repubblica, and I’m starving. I stop at this little pizzeria. You know the kind, where the pizza is so good it makes you wanna cry? I order a slice, and it’s massive. I’m talking bigger than my face! I take a bite, and it’s like a flavor explosion. I’m in heaven. But then, I see this guy at the next table. He’s got a slice too, but he’s just staring at it like it’s an alien. I’m like, “Dude, it’s pizza! Eat it!” He finally takes a bite, and his eyes go wide. I’m cracking up. “Welcome to Fondi, my friend!” After lunch, I decide to take a stroll by the beach. The sun’s shining, and the waves are crashing. I’m feeling good, you know? But then, I see this group of tourists trying to take a selfie. They’re all crowded together, and one of them drops their phone right into the sand. I’m dying laughing. Like, come on! I help them out, and they’re super grateful. They start asking me about Fondi, and I’m like, “You gotta check out the Castello Baronale!” I mean, it’s a must-see. I’m giving them the whole tour guide spiel, and they’re loving it. I’m feeling like a local celebrity or something. But then, as I’m walking back, I get a call from the clinic. Another emergency. I’m like, “Seriously? Can’t a bone cutter catch a break?” But I head back, ready for whatever comes next. So, yeah, that was my day in Fondi. Full of ups and downs, laughs and craziness. I love this city, even when it throws me for a loop. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
