Man, what a day in Gaggiano! Seriously, I’m still reeling. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for my morning coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this dude in front of me orders, like, a 10-ingredient drink. I’m like, “Bro, it’s coffee, not a science experiment!” Finally, I get my cup, and it’s perfect. I take a sip, and boom! Happiness overload. But then, I step outside, and it’s chaos. The street market on Via Garibaldi is in full swing. I love it, but today? Ugh. People everywhere! I’m dodging strollers, old ladies with their shopping carts, and this one guy who’s just standing there, blocking the whole sidewalk. Like, dude, move it or lose it! I finally make it to the park, Parco della Resistenza. It’s my go-to spot for inspiration. I plop down on a bench, and just as I’m about to jot down some ideas, this kid runs by, kicks a soccer ball, and it hits me right in the leg. I’m like, “What the heck, kid?” He just laughs and runs off. I mean, come on! But then, I see this couple having a picnic. They’re all cute, sharing food, laughing. I’m like, “Aww, that’s sweet.” But then I notice the guy’s trying to impress her with some fancy cheese. I’m thinking, “Dude, it’s just cheese. Chill.” But hey, love is love, right? After that, I decide to stroll down to Via Dante. I’m feeling artsy, you know? I pop into this little gallery. The art is wild—like, abstract stuff that makes you go, “What even is that?” I’m standing there, trying to look all sophisticated, when the owner starts chatting me up. He’s super passionate about his work, and I’m just nodding, pretending to understand. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my client. They want changes on a project due tomorrow. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I mean, I love my job, but c’mon! I’m in Gaggiano, living my best life! So, I head to Via Mazzini to grab some lunch. I’m starving. I find this little trattoria, and the pasta? OMG. It’s like a hug in a bowl. I’m slurping it down, and this old guy at the next table starts telling me about his life. He’s got stories, man! I’m laughing, almost crying. It’s like a mini soap opera. But then, I get a text from my buddy. He’s stuck in traffic on the way to Gaggiano. I’m like, “Dude, it’s a small town! How are you stuck?” Turns out, there’s a parade or something. I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” I finish my lunch, and I’m feeling good again. I decide to check out the local shops on Via Vittorio Emanuele. I find this quirky little store with handmade stuff. I’m browsing, and I see this ridiculous hat. I try it on, and I look like a total goofball. But I buy it anyway. Why not, right? As I’m leaving, I hear music. I follow the sound and find this street performer playing the accordion. It’s so Gaggiano! I can’t help but dance a little. People are smiling, and I’m just vibing. But then, I remember I have to get back to work. I rush to the bus stop on Via Roma, and of course, the bus is late. I’m standing there, tapping my foot, getting angrier by the second. I’m like, “C’mon, Gaggiano! Don’t fail me now!” Finally, the bus arrives, and I squeeze in. I’m crammed between a lady with a giant bag and a kid who’s eating gelato. I’m just trying to breathe. When I finally get home, I crash on the couch. I’m exhausted but happy. Gaggiano, you crazy little town, you’ve done it again. What a day! I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
