Man, what a day in Garlasco! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from all the craziness. So, I woke up late, like, super late. My alarm? Yeah, it decided to take a day off. Classic, right? Anyway, I jumped outta bed, threw on whatever I could find, and bolted out the door. First stop? Bar Centrale on Via Roma. I needed my caffeine fix. I swear, their cappuccinos are like liquid gold. I walk in, and it’s packed. I mean, who knew Garlasco had this many early risers? I’m standing there, tapping my foot, and this dude in front of me orders, like, five pastries. I’m like, bro, it’s not a bakery! But whatever, I finally get my drink, and it’s perfect. Then I hit the streets. Garlasco is so chill, but today? Nah, it was buzzing. I stroll down Via Garibaldi, and outta nowhere, I see this street performer. He’s juggling, and I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re gonna drop that!” But he doesn’t. He’s got skills. I toss him a couple of coins, and he gives me a nod. Felt like a rockstar for a sec. Next, I decide to check out the Parco della Rocca. It’s this beautiful park with a castle vibe. I’m walking, enjoying the sun, when I spot this cute dog. I mean, the fluffiest thing ever! I’m like, “Aww, can I pet him?” The owner’s all, “Sure, but he bites.” I’m like, “Great, just my luck!” But I pet him anyway. Totally worth it. Then, bam! Outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m drenched in seconds. I duck into a little shop on Via Cavour. It’s this cute place selling local wines. I’m chatting with the owner, and he’s telling me about the vineyards around here. Garlasco’s got some good stuff, man. I grab a bottle, thinking, “This’ll make the rain worth it.” After the rain, the sun comes back, and I’m feeling good. I head over to the Piazza della Libertà. There’s this market going on. Fresh fruits, veggies, and oh man, the cheese! I’m in heaven. I grab some pecorino, and this lady behind me is like, “You gotta try the salami too!” I’m like, “Lady, I’m not made of money!” But I end up buying some anyway. Then, I see my buddy Marco. He’s always up to something. He’s like, “Let’s hit the bar later!” I’m down, but first, I gotta check out the old church, San Giorgio. It’s stunning, man. The frescoes are wild. I’m standing there, just soaking it all in, when this old guy starts chatting me up about the history. I’m nodding, but honestly, I’m just thinking about that salami. Finally, I meet up with Marco at this little bar on Via Mazzini. We’re laughing, sharing stories, and I’m like, “Dude, today was nuts!” He’s all, “You should’ve seen the traffic on Via Milano!” I’m like, “Traffic? In Garlasco? No way!” But he’s serious. Apparently, some festival was happening, and the whole place was gridlocked. As the night rolls in, we’re sipping our drinks, and I’m just grateful. Garlasco, man. It’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I’m feeling all the feels. Happy, a bit tired, but mostly just thankful for days like this. So yeah, that was my day. Crazy, emotional, and totally Garlasco. Can’t wait to do it all again!
