Wow, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Giulianova, right? Sun shining, birds chirping, all that jazz. I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to rush to the office on Via Nazionale. I mean, who doesn’t love a good sprint to work? I’m dodging tourists like I’m in some kind of obstacle course. And let me tell ya, these tourists are everywhere! Like, chill out, people! It’s not a race to the beach, but I guess it kinda is. So, I finally get to the office, and my boss is already on my case. “Where’s the report?” she barks. Ugh, I left it on my desk! Classic me, right? I’m like, “I’ll get it, just give me a sec.” But she’s not having it. I mean, c’mon, it’s not like I’m the only one who forgets stuff. After that, I had to run to the post office on Corso Garibaldi. You know, the one that’s always packed? Yeah, that one. I’m standing in line, and this old dude in front of me is taking FOREVER. Like, dude, it’s just stamps! I’m about to lose it. I’m checking my watch, thinking, “I’m gonna be late for my lunch break!” Finally, I get my turn. I’m all smiles, ready to get outta there. But then, the lady behind the counter is like, “Sorry, we’re out of international stamps.” Are you kidding me? I just want to send a postcard to my buddy in the States! I’m like, “Can’t you just, I dunno, order more?” She shrugs. Great customer service, right? So, I leave the post office, fuming. I decide to take a stroll along the Lungomare. You know, the beautiful seaside promenade? It’s stunning, but I’m still mad. I see families having fun, kids playing, and I’m just there like a grumpy cat. But then, I spot this gelato shop. Gelato fixes everything, am I right? I get a scoop of pistachio (my fave!) and suddenly, life is good again. I’m walking, licking my gelato, and I see this street performer on Via Mazzini. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, he’s pretty good! I stop to listen, and for a moment, I forget about my day. It’s like the universe is saying, “Chill, you’ll be fine.” But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m standing there, gelato in hand, and I’m like, “No way!” I dash for cover under a café awning on Piazza della Libertà. I’m soaked, but at least I’m not getting my gelato wet. Priorities, right? While I’m waiting for the rain to stop, I overhear this couple arguing. They’re going at it, and I’m just trying to enjoy my gelato. I mean, c’mon, guys! Not the time or place! But it’s kinda funny, too. I’m thinking, “Do they know they’re in public?” Finally, the rain lets up, and I head back to the office. I’m feeling a bit better, but then I trip on a cobblestone on Via Roma. Classic me! I almost faceplant, but I catch myself. I’m laughing at my own clumsiness. When I get back, my boss is still on my case. “Where’s that report?” she asks again. I hand it to her, and she finally smiles. “Good job.” I’m like, “Thanks, I guess?” At the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I walk home along the beach, watching the sunset. The sky is all pink and orange, and I can’t help but feel grateful. Giulianova, with all its craziness, is home. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in Giulianova, right?
