Man, what a day! I swear, being a glazier in Grosseto can be a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First job was on Via Roma. Nice street, but the traffic? Ugh! Cars everywhere, like they’re having a parade or something. I’m lugging this massive sheet of glass, and I’m dodging scooters like I’m in some kinda video game. Seriously, I thought I was gonna end up as a hood ornament. Finally get to the site, and the client? Total diva. She’s like, “I want it perfect!” Lady, it’s glass, not a Picasso! I’m sweating bullets, trying to measure everything. And of course, I drop the tape measure. It rolls right into a puddle. Great. Just great. Now it’s a soggy mess. But then, outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms by. He’s got this huge grin, and I’m like, “Man, I miss being a kid.” No worries, just riding around. I mean, I’d trade my job for that in a heartbeat. But then, bam! He crashes into a parked car. Oof! I’m laughing, but also worried. Kid hops up, brushes it off like it’s nothing. Kids these days, right? After that chaos, I head over to Corso Carducci. Beautiful street, but the sun’s blazing. I’m sweating like a pig. I stop for a quick gelato. Best decision ever! I get this pistachio flavor that’s like heaven in a cup. I’m standing there, just enjoying life, when I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and it’s a delivery truck. It backed right into a storefront. Glass everywhere! I’m like, “Oh no, not more glass!” But then I see the shop owner. He’s laughing! I mean, who laughs at their own disaster? I guess he’s just used to it. Grosseto’s got that vibe, you know? People roll with the punches. So, I finish my gelato and head to the next job on Via della Repubblica. It’s a small café, and they want a new window. I get there, and the owner’s this old dude, super friendly. He starts telling me stories about Grosseto back in the day. Like, did you know the Medici family had a big influence here? Crazy! I’m just nodding, trying to focus on the glass. But his stories are so good, I’m half-listening, half-working. Then, outta nowhere, I hear a loud bang. I look up, and it’s a pigeon. Just a pigeon, but it scared the life outta me! I’m like, “Dude, chill!” But the old guy? He’s cracking up. “They’re the real bosses of Grosseto!” he says. I can’t even. Finally, I finish up, and I’m exhausted. I’m walking back to my van, and I see this beautiful sunset over the Maremma hills. It’s stunning. I stop for a sec, just taking it all in. Grosseto’s got this charm, you know? The old buildings, the vibe, the people. It’s like a little slice of heaven. But then, I trip over a curb. Classic me, right? I’m sprawled out on the sidewalk, and this couple walks by. They just look at me, then keep walking. Rude! I laugh it off, though. Gotta love the city life. So, I finally get home, and I’m beat. But I can’t help but smile. Grosseto, man. It’s a rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just another day in the life of a glazier. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
