Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a baker in Guanzate is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up at the crack of dawn, right? Like, 4 AM kinda early. The sun ain’t even up yet, and I’m already knee-deep in flour. First thing, I’m tryna whip up my famous focaccia. You know, the one that makes people stop in their tracks on Via Roma? Yeah, that one. But guess what? I’m outta olive oil! Like, seriously? Who runs outta olive oil in Italy? So, I dash over to the local market on Via Garibaldi. It’s still dark, and I’m half-asleep, but I’m like, “I need that oil!” I get there, and the guy at the stall is like, “No oil today, my friend.” I’m like, “What do you mean no oil?!” I swear, I could’ve thrown a baguette at him. But I just smile, ya know? Gotta keep it cool. So, I grab some fresh tomatoes instead. Gotta improvise, right? Back at the bakery, I’m mixing dough like a madman. Flour’s flying everywhere. I’m talkin’ full-on snowstorm in there. And then, boom! The power goes out. Just my luck! I’m standing there in the dark, covered in flour, and I’m like, “Great, just great.” But then, I hear a knock. It’s my buddy Marco from down the street. He’s got a flashlight and a smile. “Need some help?” he asks. I’m like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” So, we’re in there, mixing dough by flashlight. It’s like a scene from a horror movie, but with bread. Finally, the power comes back on, and I’m ready to bake. The smell of fresh bread fills the air. It’s heavenly! I’m feeling good, ya know? Customers start rolling in, and I’m serving up pastries like a champ. The regulars are there, chatting about the latest gossip on Via Cavour. “Did you hear about the new gelato place?” they say. I’m like, “Yeah, but have you tried my croissants?” Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs in. He’s got chocolate all over his face, and he’s like, “I want a donut!” I can’t help but laugh. I hand him a donut, and he’s grinning like he just won the lottery. Moments like that make it all worth it, ya know? But then, the afternoon hits. I’m cleaning up, and I hear shouting outside. I peek out, and there’s a parade on Via Roma! Like, what? I didn’t even know there was a parade today! People are dancing, music’s blasting, and I’m stuck in the bakery. I’m torn between joining the fun and finishing my orders. So, I grab a couple of pastries and run outside. I’m dancing with the crowd, waving my arms like a lunatic. It’s wild! I’m shoving pastries into people’s hands, and they’re loving it. “Best bakery in Guanzate!” they shout. I’m on cloud nine. But then, I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me, right? I go down, and my pastries go flying. It’s like a slow-motion scene. I’m watching my hard work splatter on the ground. I’m like, “Nooooo!” But the crowd just laughs. They’re picking up the pastries and eating them anyway. I can’t even be mad. As the sun sets, I’m back in the bakery, exhausted but happy. I’m cleaning up the mess, and I can’t help but smile. Guanzate is crazy, but it’s my crazy. I love this place. The streets, the people, the food—it’s all a part of me. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Guanzate. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
