Man, what a day! Seriously, La Spezia, you’ve got me all kinds of twisted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via del Prione for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this guy in front of me orders a “decaf soy latte with extra foam.” Like, dude, what are you, a hipster from Milan? I roll my eyes so hard, I almost see my brain. But whatever, I get my coffee, and it’s bomb. Like, liquid happiness in a cup. Then I decide to stroll down to the waterfront. The view? Breathtaking. The Gulf of Poets is just stunning, man. I’m feeling all philosophical, thinking about life, love, and the fact that I forgot to buy bread. Classic me. But then, BAM! Outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and steals my croissant! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I mean, come on! I’m just trying to enjoy my morning, and this bird’s out here living its best life. So, I’m fuming, right? I walk over to the marina, trying to cool off. I see some kids playing soccer on the beach, and I’m like, “Aww, that’s cute.” But then, one of them kicks the ball, and it lands right at my feet. I pick it up, and they all look at me like I’m some kind of soccer god. I’m like, “Nah, fam, I’m just a counselor.” But I kick it back, and they cheer. I’m feeling like a rockstar for a hot second. Next, I head to the Castello di San Giorgio. I mean, it’s a must-see, right? I’m climbing up those steep steps, and I’m huffing and puffing like I just ran a marathon. But the view from up there? Worth it. You can see all of La Spezia, the colorful houses, the boats, everything. I snap a pic for the ‘gram, and I’m feeling all artsy. But then, I drop my phone! Ugh! Luckily, it’s fine, but my heart stopped for a sec. After that, I decide to grab lunch at a little trattoria on Via Chiodo. I order some trofie al pesto, and let me tell you, it’s like a party in my mouth. I’m savoring every bite, and then this old man at the next table starts chatting me up. He’s telling me stories about La Spezia during WWII, and I’m just sitting there, wide-eyed. It’s wild how much history is packed into this city. But then he starts talking about his cat, and I’m like, “Okay, buddy, I’m out.” Cats are cool, but not that cool. So, I finish up and head back to my office. I’m feeling all inspired, ready to help my clients. But then, I get a flat tire on the way! Seriously? I’m cursing like a sailor, trying to change it. I’m sweating, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna miss my next appointment. But then, this sweet old lady stops to help me. She’s like, “Don’t worry, dear. I’ve got this.” And she does! I’m just standing there, feeling like a total loser. But she’s so sweet, I can’t even be mad. Finally, I make it to my last session of the day. I’m all frazzled, but my client walks in with this huge smile. They just got a new job, and I’m like, “YES! Finally, some good news!” We talk, we laugh, and I forget all about my crazy day. It’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do. So, yeah, La Spezia, you’re a wild ride. You’ve got your ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything. Just maybe keep the seagulls away from my food next time, okay?
