Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a shepherd ain’t just about chillin’ with sheep. Nah, today was wild. So, I’m in Lariano, right? This little gem of a town in Italy, just chillin’ in the hills. You know, the kinda place where everyone knows everyone, and the streets are all cobblestone and twisty. I wake up, sun’s shining, birds chirping. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” But nah, life had other plans. First off, I head down Via Roma, and I swear, I see this old dude, Giuseppe, trying to sell his homemade cheese. I love cheese, man! But he’s like, “Try my pecorino!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m a shepherd, I know my cheese!” But I try it anyway. It’s good, but I’m not about to pay 10 euros for a slice. Then, I’m walkin’ past the piazza, and there’s this festival goin’ on. Music blaring, people dancing. I’m like, “What’s this?!” Turns out, it’s some kinda harvest festival. They got all these stalls with food, wine, and, of course, more cheese. I’m in heaven, but also, I gotta keep an eye on my flock. Can’t have them wanderin’ off, ya know? So, I’m munchin’ on some arancini, and I see my buddy Marco. He’s always up to no good. He’s like, “Yo, let’s go check out the old castle!” I’m like, “Dude, I got sheep!” But he’s persistent. “C’mon, just for a bit!” So, I leave the sheep with my other buddy, Luca, who’s probably gonna fall asleep on the job. We head up to the Castello di Lariano. It’s this old fortress, super cool. The view from up there? Breathtaking! You can see all the way to the hills of the Castelli Romani. I’m feelin’ on top of the world. But then, Marco decides to climb up this sketchy part of the wall. I’m like, “Bro, don’t do it!” But he’s all “I got this!” Next thing I know, he slips and falls right into a bush. I’m dying laughing, but also worried he’s gonna break something. After that, we head back down, and I’m thinkin’ I should check on my sheep. But guess what? They’re gone! I’m like, “No way!” Panic sets in. I’m runnin’ around Via Garibaldi, shoutin’ their names like they’re gonna answer back. “Baa-baa! Where you at?!” Finally, I find them chillin’ by the fountain in Piazza della Libertà. Just munchin’ on some grass like they own the place. I’m relieved but also kinda mad. Like, really? You guys couldn’t stay put? So, I gather them up, and I’m headin’ home, but not before I stop for gelato. I mean, c’mon, it’s Italy! I get a scoop of pistachio and one of stracciatella. Best decision ever. I’m walkin’ back, feelin’ like a king, sheep in tow, gelato in hand. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, heavy rain. I’m sprinting down Via della Repubblica, tryin’ to keep my sheep from freaking out. I’m soaked, they’re soaked, and I’m just laughin’ at the absurdity of it all. Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade this crazy day for anything. Lariano, with its winding streets and quirky people, it’s my home. Even with the chaos, it’s where I belong. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Lariano. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
