Man, what a day! I swear, being a forester in Laterza is wild. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head down Via Roma. Love that street. It’s got this vibe, ya know? Old buildings, little shops, and the smell of fresh bread from the bakery. I grab a cornetto—best in town, no contest. But then, BAM! I spill coffee all over my shirt. Great start, right? I’m standing there, looking like a mess, and I’m like, “C’mon, universe, cut me some slack!” So, I’m walking towards the park, thinking about the trees I gotta check on. Laterza’s got some beautiful ones, man. The oak trees on Viale dei Pini? Stunning! But as I’m strolling, I see this group of kids playing soccer. They’re kicking the ball around, laughing, and I’m just standing there, reminiscing about my childhood. Then, outta nowhere, one of them kicks the ball straight at me! I dodge it like a ninja, but I’m still like, “Really, kid? You tryna take me out?” Finally, I make it to the park. It’s peaceful, ya know? Birds chirping, leaves rustling. I’m checking the trees, making sure they’re healthy. But then I notice some graffiti on a beautiful old tree. Ugh! It says “Marco loves Sara.” Like, come on, Marco! You couldn’t find a wall? I’m fuming. I mean, I get it, love is great and all, but not on my trees, man! After that, I decide to take a break. I sit on a bench near the fountain on Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. It’s a nice spot. People are walking by, chatting, and I’m just trying to chill. But then, this old guy starts talking to me about the weather. I’m like, “Dude, I’m a forester. I know the weather.” But he’s going on and on about how it’s too hot for October. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Please, just let me enjoy my peace!” Then, outta nowhere, I get a call from my buddy, Luca. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta come to the festival tonight!” I totally forgot about it! The Sagra della Castagna! I’m pumped! Chestnuts everywhere, music, and good vibes. But I’m also like, “Crap, I gotta clean up and change.” So, I rush home, throw on some decent clothes, and head back out. The festival is lit! I’m munching on roasted chestnuts, and they’re so good. I run into some friends, and we’re laughing, joking around. I even try to dance a bit, but let’s be real, I’ve got two left feet. We’re all just vibing, and I’m feeling good. But then, I see that same kid from earlier. He’s there, and he’s got a face full of chocolate from a crepe. I can’t help but laugh. I’m like, “Hey, Marco! You still kicking balls at people?” He just grins, chocolate smeared everywhere. Classic! As the night goes on, I’m just soaking it all in. The lights, the music, the laughter. Laterza really knows how to throw a party. I’m thinking about how lucky I am to live here. Sure, the day was a rollercoaster, but it ended on a high note. So, I head home, tired but happy. I’m thinking about those trees I checked earlier. They’re still standing strong, just like me. And I’m ready for whatever tomorrow throws at me. Bring it on, Laterza!
