Man, what a day! I swear, Latina-Scalo is wild. I woke up, sun blaring through my window. I’m like, “Great, another day in paradise.” But nah, it was anything but that. First off, I hit up Via Roma for breakfast. You know, the usual—cappuccino and cornetto. But the barista? Ugh, she was in a mood. I asked for extra foam, and she just rolled her eyes. Like, chill, lady! It’s not rocket science. I mean, it’s just foam, right? Whatever, I downed that coffee like it was my lifeline. Then, I decided to dive at the local spot near the train station. You know, the one by the old bridge on Via della Libertà? It’s a decent place, but today? Today was a whole different level. I’m all geared up, ready to hit the water, and boom! My buddy Marco shows up late. Classic Marco. He’s like, “Sorry, bro, traffic was nuts.” Dude, it’s a small town! How do you get stuck in traffic here? So, we finally get in the water. And let me tell you, the visibility was insane! I could see all the way to the bottom. Fish everywhere, like a freaking aquarium. I’m diving down, feeling like a mermaid or something. But then, outta nowhere, I see this huge net tangled up in the rocks. I’m like, “What the heck?” I swim closer, and it’s full of trash. Plastic bottles, old shoes, you name it. I’m fuming. Like, come on, people! This is our home! I start pulling it out, and Marco’s just floating there, taking selfies. I’m like, “Dude, help me out!” But nah, he’s too busy posing. I swear, if I see one more duck face, I’m gonna lose it. After that, we head back to the surface, and I’m all pumped. But then, I see this group of tourists on the shore. They’re laughing and pointing at us. I’m thinking, “What’s so funny?” Turns out, Marco’s still in the water, trying to do a backflip. Spoiler alert: he totally eats it. Faceplant right into the water. I can’t breathe, I’m laughing so hard. Once we’re back on land, I’m still buzzing from the dive. We stroll down Via Cavour, and I spot this little gelato shop. You know the one? The one with the crazy flavors? I’m like, “Let’s get some!” I go for pistachio and chocolate swirl. Marco? He gets bubblegum. Seriously? Who even orders that? We sit on the steps of the old church, just chilling, and I’m thinking about how lucky I am. Latina-Scalo is beautiful, man. The vibe, the people, the food. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, really? I just got my gelato! We scramble for cover, laughing like idiots. Finally, we duck into this little bar on Via Garibaldi. It’s cozy, and the bartender is super chill. I order a spritz, and Marco goes for a beer. We’re just talking about the day, and I’m like, “Dude, this was epic!” He’s nodding, but I can see he’s still thinking about that backflip. As the night rolls in, the streets are lit up. Latina-Scalo looks magical. I’m feeling all the feels. Happy, angry, surprised—everything. I mean, who knew a day could be so packed? So, we finish our drinks, and I’m like, “Let’s hit the road.” But Marco? He’s still trying to convince me to go back to the water. I’m like, “Nah, man, I’m done for today.” And that’s how my day went. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Latina-Scalo. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
