Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Lavello, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m running late. Classic me. I sprint down Via Roma, dodging old ladies and their shopping bags. Like, c’mon, lady, I got places to be! I finally get to the office, and guess what? The coffee machine’s broken. Ugh! I need my caffeine fix, or I’m basically a zombie. So, I’m in the office, trying to get my act together. My boss, Mr. Rossi, walks in. He’s all smiles, which is weird. He never smiles. Turns out, he’s got this big meeting with some clients from Bari. Great, just what I need. I’m supposed to prep everything, and I’m already sweating bullets. Then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. Like, seriously? In Lavello? I’m thinking, “Is this a drill or what?” Everyone’s panicking, running around like headless chickens. I’m just standing there, trying to figure out if I should grab my purse or my laptop. Priorities, right? We finally get outside, and it’s chaos. People are gathered on Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, looking up at the building like it’s about to explode. I’m just hoping it’s not my fault. I mean, I can’t handle that kind of pressure. After what feels like an eternity, the fire brigade shows up. They’re all calm and collected, while I’m about to lose it. Turns out, it was just a faulty smoke detector. Phew! But now I’m late for the meeting. Great. I rush back to the office, and guess what? The clients are already there. I walk in, hair a mess, and they’re all staring at me. I can feel my face turning red. I try to play it cool, but I’m sweating like a pig. The meeting goes surprisingly well. I mean, who knew? Mr. Rossi actually knows how to charm people. I’m just sitting there, nodding along, trying not to look like a deer in headlights. After the meeting, I decide I need a break. So, I head to my favorite café on Via Garibaldi. I order a cappuccino and a slice of torta di ricotta. Heaven! I’m finally starting to relax. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my coworker, Carla. She’s freaking out because she can’t find the presentation files. I’m like, “Seriously, Carla? I’m trying to enjoy my coffee here!” I rush back to the office, and of course, the files are right where she left them. Classic. I can’t even. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I walk home through the narrow streets of Lavello, taking in the sights. The old buildings, the little shops, the smell of fresh bread from the bakery. It’s beautiful, really. But I’m too tired to appreciate it. Finally, I get home, kick off my shoes, and collapse on the couch. What a day! I’m thinking, “Tomorrow better be better.” But knowing my luck, it’ll probably be worse. So, that was my day in Lavello. Full of surprises, chaos, and a whole lotta coffee. Can’t wait to do it all over again!
