Wow, what a day in Leverano! Seriously, where do I even start? I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, but nah, the universe had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Leverano, and let me tell ya, the sun was blazing. Like, I could fry an egg on the pavement. I strolled down Via Roma, feeling all fancy, but then BAM! A pigeon poops right on my shoulder. Ugh! Thanks, bird. Just what I needed. So, I’m walking, trying to shake off the bird bomb, and I pass by the old church, Chiesa di Santa Maria. It’s beautiful, right? But I’m not in the mood for beauty. I’m still fuming over the pigeon. I mean, c’mon! Can’t a person walk in peace? Then, I decide to grab a coffee at this cute little café on Via Garibaldi. The barista, this dude named Marco, is super chill. He’s like, “Hey, you look like you need a pick-me-up.” I laugh, but inside I’m like, “Dude, I need a miracle.” I order a cappuccino, and it’s like heaven in a cup. Seriously, I could marry that coffee. After that, I wander over to the market. Oh man, the market! It’s buzzing with life. Fresh fruits, veggies, and all the locals chatting away. I spot this old lady selling the juiciest tomatoes. I’m talking about tomatoes that could make a grown man cry. I buy a few, and she gives me this huge smile. It’s like, “Thanks for supporting my tomato empire!” But then, outta nowhere, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy on a scooter just wiped out. Like, full-on cartoon style. I can’t help but laugh. He gets up, brushes himself off, and yells, “I’m okay!” Classic Leverano moment. So, I keep walking, and I hit up the park near Piazza della Libertà. It’s so peaceful there. Kids are playing, couples are picnicking, and I’m just sitting on a bench, soaking it all in. But then, my phone buzzes. It’s work. Ugh, can’t a person catch a break? I answer, and it’s my boss. “We need that report by EOD!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m in Leverano! Can’t it wait?” But nope, the report waits for no one. So, I’m sitting there, trying to type on my phone, and it’s a mess. I’m sweating, I’m cursing, and I’m pretty sure I just typed “Leverano is the best city ever” instead of the actual report. Finally, I wrap up the work stuff, and I’m like, “Okay, time to enjoy this day!” I head over to the gelato shop on Via Vittorio Emanuele. I get a scoop of pistachio, and it’s like a party in my mouth. I’m in heaven again. As I’m licking my gelato, I bump into an old friend from high school. We start chatting, and it’s like no time has passed. We reminisce about the good ol’ days, and I’m laughing so hard I almost drop my gelato. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I just got my gelato! I dash for cover under a shop awning, and I’m stuck there with a bunch of strangers. We’re all laughing about the sudden downpour, and it’s kinda nice. After the rain, the streets of Leverano look magical. Everything’s shiny and fresh. I decide to take a stroll down Via della Libertà, and I can’t help but feel grateful. This city, with all its quirks and surprises, has a way of making you feel alive. So, yeah, my day was a rollercoaster. From pigeon poop to gelato bliss, Leverano never fails to surprise me. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
