Man, lemme tell ya about my day in Lomazzo. Wow, just wow. I woke up, sun blarin’ through my window, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. So, I grab my sharpener kit, right? I’m a sharpener, not just any sharpener, the best in town. I mean, who else can make a pencil so sharp it could probably cut glass? Anyway, I head out to Via Roma, the main street. It’s buzzing, people everywhere, cars honking like they’re in a race. First stop, this little café on the corner. I’m craving a cappuccino, ya know? I order one, and the barista, this dude named Marco, takes forever. I’m like, “C’mon, man, I got sharpenin’ to do!” Finally, he hands me my drink, and it’s like a work of art. I take a sip, and it’s like heaven. But then, BAM! I spill it all over my shirt. Great start, right? So, I’m walking down Via Garibaldi, tryin’ to shake off the coffee disaster. I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, trying to sharpen his pencil with a rock. A rock! I’m like, “Dude, what are you doin’? You need a real sharpener!” He looks at me like I’m a wizard or something. I whip out my fancy sharpener, and he’s in awe. I mean, who wouldn’t be? Then, I get to the park, Parco della Villa, and it’s packed. Families, dogs, you name it. I set up my little sharpener stand, and people start lining up. I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, this lady comes up, all huffy. “Why is my pencil not sharp enough?” she yells. I’m like, “Lady, it’s not my fault you bought a cheap pencil!” But I just smile and sharpen it anyway. Outta nowhere, it starts raining. Like, seriously? I’m in the middle of a sharpening frenzy, and the sky decides to open up. I grab my stuff, run for cover under a tree, and I’m just standing there, soaked. I’m thinkin’, “This is the worst day ever.” But then, I see a couple of kids splashing in puddles, laughing their heads off. Kinda makes me smile, ya know? After the rain, the sun comes back out, and it’s like a whole new vibe. I set up again, and business is booming. I’m sharpening pencils like a madman. I even get a compliment from this old dude, Mr. Rossi, who’s been around forever. He says, “You’re the best sharpener in Lomazzo!” I’m like, “Thanks, man! You’re not too shabby yourself!” But then, I get a call from my buddy, Luca. He’s stuck at the train station, and he needs a ride. I’m like, “Dude, I’m in the middle of a sharpening marathon!” But I can’t leave him hangin’, so I pack up my stuff and head to the station. On the way, I pass by the old church, Chiesa di San Giovanni. It’s beautiful, man. I stop for a sec, just to take it in. But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy just knocked over a whole cart of gelato. I’m talkin’ like, gelato everywhere! People are laughing, and I can’t help but chuckle too. Finally, I get to the station, and Luca’s there, lookin’ all frazzled. “Dude, you won’t believe the day I had!” he says. I’m like, “You think you had it rough? I spilled coffee, got rained on, and saw a gelato massacre!” We both laugh, and it’s like all the craziness just melts away. So, we grab a pizza at this spot on Via Dante. Best pizza ever, by the way. I’m talkin’ crispy crust, gooey cheese, and toppings galore. We sit outside, watchin’ the world go by, and I’m thinkin’, “Lomazzo, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart.” By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I head home, my sharpener kit a little worse for wear, but my spirit’s high. I love this place, the chaos, the laughter, the unexpected moments. Lomazzo, you wild ride, I wouldn’t trade ya for anything.
