Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a combine harvester in Luco-dei-Marsi is a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the road on Via Roma. You know, the main drag. It’s like the heartbeat of this place. But lemme tell ya, traffic was a mess. I mean, c’mon! It’s a small town, how’s there so much chaos? I’m sittin’ there, honkin’ my horn like a madman. People just strollin’ across the street like they own the place. I’m like, “Yo, I’m a combine! Move it or lose it!” Finally, I get to the fields near the Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo. Beautiful spot, right? But then, outta nowhere, I see this family of wild boars. Like, seriously? I’m tryin’ to harvest here, not play hide and seek with porky little monsters! They’re just chillin’, munchin’ on whatever. I’m like, “Hey, guys! This is MY turf!” But they just look at me like, “Whatever, dude.” So, I’m tryin’ to focus, right? But then, my buddy Marco shows up. He’s always got some crazy story. Today, he’s talkin’ about how he saw a goat on the roof of a house on Via della Libertà. I’m like, “A goat? On a roof? What’s next, cows in the café?” But honestly, I can totally see it happenin’ in this town. Then, I get a call from my boss. He’s all like, “Hey, we need you to move to the other side of town.” I’m thinkin’, “Great, just what I need.” So, I pack up and head over to Via dei Fiori. It’s a pretty street, flowers everywhere, but I’m in a hurry! I’m zoomin’ down the road, and BAM! I hit a pothole. My poor combine! I swear, it felt like I just dropped a bomb. Now I’m mad. I pull over, check the damage. Just a scratch, thank goodness. But I’m fumin’. I mean, how hard is it to fix a pothole? It’s like they’re tryin’ to ruin my day on purpose! After that, I finally get to the fields. The sun’s settin’, and it’s gorgeous. I’m feelin’ a bit better. I start harvestin’, and it’s smooth sailing. But then, I see a bunch of kids playin’ soccer nearby. They’re kickin’ the ball around, laughin’, havin’ a blast. I can’t help but smile. It’s moments like that that make this town special, ya know? But then, one of the kids kicks the ball too hard. It comes flyin’ at me! I’m like, “Oh no, not my combine!” I duck, and the ball hits the side. I’m thinkin’, “Great, now I’m a target!” The kids start laughin’ and runnin’ over. They’re all like, “Sorry, mister!” I can’t help but laugh too. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I drive back through Luco-dei-Marsi, and it’s all lit up. The streets are alive with people. I see the café on Piazza della Libertà, and I’m like, “I need a coffee.” So, I park my combine and grab a quick espresso. As I sip my coffee, I think about the day. It was crazy, emotional, and full of surprises. Luco-dei-Marsi, you never cease to amaze me. From wild boars to rooftop goats, this place is a gem. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
