Man, what a day! Seriously, Macerata, you’ve got me all kinds of twisted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m strolling down Corso Matteotti, coffee in hand, feeling like a boss. But then, BAM! I trip over some cobblestones. Like, who thought it was a good idea to make the streets look all medieval? I’m pretty sure I twisted my ankle. Great start, huh? Anyway, I finally make it to the university. You know, the one that’s all fancy and stuff? I’m a Research Associate, so I’m supposed to be all smart and serious. But honestly, I just wanna nap. I get to my office on Via dei Velini, and my computer decides to play dead. Like, really? I’ve got deadlines, people! So, I’m sitting there, fuming. I mean, I could’ve been out enjoying the beautiful Piazza della Libertà, but nooo, I’m stuck here with a frozen screen. I’m about to lose it. I start pacing, and I swear I’m channeling my inner Italian grandma, yelling at the tech gods. Finally, tech support shows up. This dude is like, “Have you tried turning it off and on?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a caveman.” But whatever, I let him do his thing. While he’s fiddling with my computer, I sneak out for a quick gelato run. You know, to calm my nerves. I hit up Gelateria La Romana. OMG, the pistachio is to die for! I’m standing there, savoring every bite, when I see this cute dog. It’s a fluffy little thing, and I’m like, “Aww, I need that in my life.” But then, the owner yanks it away. Rude! Back at the office, my computer’s working again. Yay! But then, I get an email. My research proposal got rejected. Like, are you kidding me? I’m pouring my heart into this, and they just toss it aside. I’m ready to throw my laptop out the window. But then, I remember the sunset. Macerata has the best sunsets. I decide to take a break and head to the Sferisterio. It’s this old arena, and it’s beautiful. I plop down on a bench, and the sky is on fire. I’m feeling all the feels. Suddenly, I hear music. There’s a street performer playing the accordion. I can’t help but smile. I toss him a couple of euros. He winks at me, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe today isn’t a total disaster.” As I’m walking back, I pass by Via Garibaldi. There’s this little shop selling handmade pasta. I can’t resist. I grab some ravioli, and the lady behind the counter is super sweet. She gives me a free sample, and I’m in heaven. But then, I get a text from my boss. “Need those revisions ASAP.” Ugh, can’t a person catch a break? I rush home, and I’m typing like a madman. My cat, Luna, is sitting on my keyboard, totally unhelpful. Finally, I hit send. I’m done! I collapse on the couch, exhausted. But then, I remember the gelato. I still have some left! I dig in, and it’s like a sweet reward for surviving the day. So yeah, Macerata, you’re a wild ride. You’ve got your ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything. Just maybe fix those cobblestones, okay?
