Man, what a day! I swear, if I had a euro for every crazy thing that happened in Manerbio today, I’d be rich. So, I woke up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for my morning coffee. You know, the usual spot. The barista, Marco, he’s a legend. But today? Dude was outta coffee beans! Like, how do you run a café without coffee? I was ready to throw a fit. I mean, c’mon, it’s Manerbio! We need our caffeine fix! So, I settled for a cappuccino that tasted like warm milk. Ugh. Then, I decided to stroll down to the park, Parco della Libertà. It’s a nice spot, ya know? Green grass, kids playing, old folks feeding pigeons. But guess what? There was this random dog. A big one. Like, a bear in disguise. It runs up to me, and I’m thinking, “Oh great, I’m about to be mauled.” But nah, it just wanted to play. So, I’m there, dodging slobber and trying not to trip over my own feet. Hilarious, right? After that, I hit up the market on Via Garibaldi. Man, the vibe there is always lit. Fresh veggies, fruits, and all that good stuff. But today, it was packed! Like, sardines in a can. I’m trying to squeeze through, and this lady with a cart just stops. Right in front of me. I’m like, “Lady, move it or lose it!” But she’s oblivious, chatting away. I swear, I almost lost my mind. Finally, I get my hands on some fresh tomatoes. They were so ripe, I could practically smell the summer. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by and knocks my tomatoes right outta my hands! They splat on the ground. I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” The kid just giggles and runs off. I’m left with tomato juice on my shoes. Great. So, I’m fuming, right? I decide to head to the gelato shop on Via Mazzini. Gelato fixes everything, am I right? I get there, and it’s like heaven in a cup. I order pistachio, my fave. But the guy behind the counter? He gives me a scoop that’s basically a thimble. I’m like, “Dude, I didn’t come here for a taste test!” He just shrugs. I mean, c’mon, it’s Manerbio! We do big gelato here! After that, I needed some air. So, I walked over to the old church, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. It’s beautiful, man. The architecture is stunning. I sat on the steps, just chillin’, trying to calm down. But then, this group of tourists shows up, taking selfies like they’re in a fashion show. I’m just there, trying to enjoy the moment, and they’re blocking my view. I’m like, “Can I get a little peace here?” As the sun started to set, I decided to head back home. But of course, I took a wrong turn on Via Cavour. Classic me, right? I ended up in this tiny alley that smelled like fresh bread. I followed my nose and found this little bakery. Best decision ever! I grabbed a focaccia that was still warm. I mean, it was like a hug in food form. Finally, I made it home, exhausted but happy. I plopped on my couch, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. Manerbio, you never cease to amaze me. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
