Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an auctioneer in Marco-Simone is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had this big auction at the Centro Commerciale Marco-Simone. You know, that place on Via Marco Simone? Yeah, that one. I roll in, coffee in hand, ready to rock. But guess what? The sound system’s on the fritz. Like, seriously? I’m about to auction off some sweet vintage stuff, and I can’t even get a mic to work? Ugh! So, I’m there, trying to fix it, and this dude, Marco (no joke, his name is Marco), comes up to me. He’s all like, “Hey, man, you good?” I’m like, “No, Marco, I’m not good! I need this mic!” He just laughs. I mean, who laughs at a guy in distress? I wanted to throw my coffee at him, but I didn’t. I’m a professional, right? Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the sound system decides to cooperate. I’m pumped! I start the auction, and people are bidding like crazy. I’m talkin’ about some wild stuff—old Roman coins, vintage wine bottles, and even a signed soccer jersey from the 1990 World Cup. People in Marco-Simone love their soccer, man! But then, outta nowhere, this lady in the back starts yelling. I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, she thought I was auctioning off her purse! I mean, c’mon! It was a totally different purse! I had to calm her down. “Ma’am, I’m not selling your purse! I’m selling history here!” She didn’t find it funny. After that chaos, I finally get to the good stuff. The crowd’s hyped, and I’m feeling it. I’m in my zone, you know? But then, I spot this guy on Via della Libertà. He’s just standing there, looking lost. I’m like, “Dude, you okay?” Turns out, he’s a tourist who wandered in. I’m like, “Welcome to Marco-Simone! You’re in for a treat!” So, I keep auctioning, and the bids keep climbing. I’m sweating bullets, but I’m loving it. Then, I see my buddy Luca in the crowd. He’s waving like a maniac. I’m thinking, “What’s he doing here?” Turns out, he brought me a slice of pizza from that spot on Via dei Pini. Best pizza ever! I’m munching while auctioning. Multitasking like a boss! But then, just when I thought it couldn’t get crazier, the power goes out. Yup, right in the middle of a bid! I’m standing there, mic in hand, and it’s pitch black. I’m like, “Is this a horror movie?” People start laughing, and I’m just trying to keep it together. “Hey, folks, who needs lights when you’ve got charm?” Finally, the lights flicker back on, and I’m back in action. I finish the auction, and guess what? We raised a ton of cash for the local charity! I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. Like, seriously? I just wanna go home! So, I’m drenched, but I’m happy. I walk down Via Marco Simone, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. I mean, who knew being an auctioneer could be this intense? As I finally get to my car, I can’t help but laugh. Marco-Simone, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. Can’t wait for the next auction! But maybe, just maybe, let’s skip the power outages next time, okay?
