Man, what a day! I swear, being a shepherd in Mariano-Comense is like a rollercoaster. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already out there, ready to herd my sheep. But today? Oh boy, today was somethin’ else. First off, I’m strollin’ down Via Roma, just me and my flock. The streets are quiet, but you can feel the city buzzin’ under the surface. I’m thinkin’ about how peaceful it is, ya know? Then BAM! A car zooms by, honkin’ like a madman. I’m like, “Dude, chill! It’s not a racetrack!” I mean, come on, it’s not like I’m herding sheep on the Autostrada! So, I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but then I spot this cute little café on the corner of Via Garibaldi. The smell of fresh pastries hits me like a ton of bricks. I’m like, “Forget the sheep for a sec, I need a cornetto!” I tie up my sheep (they’re not goin’ anywhere, trust me) and dash in. I grab a pastry, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’ life’s good, right? Wrong! I step outside, and my sheep are gone! I’m like, “No way! Not today!” I run down Via Cavour, shoutin’ their names like they’re gonna answer back. “Baa-baa! Come on, guys!” I’m panicking, heart racin’. I finally spot them munchin’ on some poor guy’s garden on Via Dante. I mean, really? Can’t a shepherd catch a break? I’m chasin’ them down, and this old lady, bless her heart, starts laughin’ at me. She’s like, “You should’ve kept a better eye on ‘em!” I’m like, “Thanks, lady! I’ll just add that to my list of things to do!” I finally wrangle them back, but I’m sweatin’ like I just ran a marathon. Then, I decide to take a breather at the park by the lake. It’s beautiful there, ya know? The water’s glistening, and the ducks are quackin’. I plop down on a bench, and for a moment, I forget about the chaos. But then, outta nowhere, a kid runs by, kickin’ a soccer ball. The ball hits my leg, and I’m like, “Seriously?!” The kid just giggles and runs off. I’m thinkin’, “What’s next? A meteor shower?” After that, I head over to the market on Piazza della Libertà. Man, the vibe there is electric! Fresh veggies, people chattin’, and the smell of street food. I grab a panzerotto, and it’s like a party in my mouth. I’m munchin’ away, and this guy starts talkin’ to me about the best spots to herd sheep. I’m like, “Dude, I’ve been doin’ this for years. I know all the good spots!” But I’m also thinkin’, “Maybe I should take notes?” As the sun starts settlin’, I’m walkin’ back home, and I can’t help but laugh at the day. I mean, who else can say they lost their sheep in the city, chased ‘em down, and had a pastry in between? Only in Mariano-Comense, right? I finally get home, and my dog, Fido, is waitin’ for me. He’s waggin’ his tail like he’s missed me for ages. I’m like, “Buddy, you won’t believe the day I had!” And as I sit down, I realize, despite the craziness, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This city, with its quirks and charm, is home. And tomorrow? Who knows what’ll happen next!
