Man, what a day! I swear, being an agronomist in Marina-di-Ardea-Tor-San-Lorenzo is like riding a rollercoaster. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the Via delle Tamerici. Beautiful street, lined with those tall trees. I’m cruising, thinking about my crops, my plants, you know, the usual. Suddenly, I see this old dude trying to parallel park his tiny car. I mean, c’mon! It’s like watching a tortoise trying to do a backflip. I’m laughing, but then I realize I’m late for a meeting with some farmers. Ugh! So, I zoom over to the market on Via dei Pini. It’s packed! Like, where did all these people come from? I’m dodging carts and kids. I finally find my buddy Marco, who’s got this crazy idea about growing organic tomatoes. I’m all for it, but he’s got this wild look in his eyes. “Dude, we can make a fortune!” he says. I’m like, “Yeah, if the tomatoes don’t rot first!” Then, outta nowhere, this lady starts yelling. Turns out, her dog just ate a whole bag of organic fertilizer. I mean, who lets their dog do that? I’m trying to keep a straight face while she’s freaking out. “My poor Fido!” she cries. I’m thinking, “Lady, your dog’s gonna be fine. Just a little... extra energy.” After that chaos, I head to the beach. Marina di Ardea’s coastline is stunning, man! The waves crashing, the sun glistening on the water. I take a deep breath, and for a second, I forget about the craziness. But then, I see this group of tourists trying to take a selfie with a seagull. The bird’s not having it. It swoops down and snatches a sandwich right outta some guy’s hand! Classic! I’m laughing so hard, I almost drop my phone. But then, I get a call from my boss. “We need to talk about the soil samples.” Great. Just what I wanted to hear. I’m like, “Sure, let’s talk about dirt.” So, I rush back to the office on Via della Libertà. It’s a small place, but it’s got character. I walk in, and my boss is pacing. “The samples are off!” he says. I’m thinking, “Of course they are. It’s Marina di Ardea! The soil’s probably got more salt than a bag of chips.” We go back and forth, and I’m getting more frustrated. I mean, I love this place, but the soil can be a pain. Finally, I suggest we do some tests by the beach. “Let’s see if the ocean’s messing with it,” I say. He looks at me like I’m nuts. But hey, it’s worth a shot, right? After that, I decide to treat myself. I hit up this little gelato shop on Via dei Fiori. Best gelato ever! I get a scoop of pistachio and a scoop of stracciatella. I’m in heaven! But then, I spill some on my shirt. Great. Just great. Now I look like a walking dessert. As the day winds down, I stroll along the waterfront. The sunset is insane. Orange, pink, all those colors blending together. I think about how lucky I am to work in such a beautiful place. Sure, it’s chaotic, but it’s home. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of laughs, a bit of stress, and a whole lotta love for Marina-di-Ardea-Tor-San-Lorenzo. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
