Man, what a day! I swear, I thought I was just gonna crunch numbers in peace. But nah, Massa-di-Somma had other plans for me. So, I roll outta bed, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” I grab my espresso from that little café on Via Roma. You know the one? The barista there, Marco, he’s a legend. He always knows my order. But today? He messes it up! I mean, c’mon, Marco! I asked for a macchiato, not a cappuccino! I’m already fuming. I head to the office on Via San Giuseppe. Traffic was a nightmare. Like, seriously, who taught these drivers how to park? I saw a guy trying to squeeze into a spot that was clearly too small. He was like a sardine in a can. I almost laughed, but then I remembered I was late. Finally, I get to my desk, and it’s a mess. Papers everywhere! I’m talking about a tornado of receipts and invoices. I’m an accountant, not a janitor! I start sorting through the chaos, and then my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Luca. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta check out the view from the top of Monte Somma!” I’m like, “Luca, I’m buried in numbers here!” But then I think, “Why not?” So, I sneak out during lunch. I hop on my scooter and zoom through the streets. The wind in my hair, I feel alive! I zip past the old church on Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. That place is beautiful, man. The architecture is insane! I can’t believe I’ve lived here my whole life and never really appreciated it. I finally reach Monte Somma, and wow. Just wow. The view is breathtaking! You can see all of Massa-di-Somma laid out like a postcard. I snap a few pics, feeling like a tourist in my own city. But then, I hear this loud noise. I turn around, and it’s a bunch of kids playing soccer. They’re kicking the ball around like they’re in the World Cup! I can’t help but smile. But then, outta nowhere, one of the kids kicks the ball too hard, and it comes flying at me! I duck just in time, but it hits this old guy behind me. He’s not happy. He starts yelling in dialect, and I’m just standing there, trying not to laugh. The kids scatter like cockroaches when the light turns on. Classic! I head back to the office, still chuckling. But when I get there, my boss is waiting. He’s got that look. You know the one. “Where were you?” he asks. I’m like, “Just taking in the sights, boss!” He doesn’t buy it. I can feel my heart racing. The rest of the day is a blur. Numbers, numbers, and more numbers. I’m drowning in spreadsheets. I swear, if I see one more column of figures, I might lose it. But then, I get a message from my sister. She’s in town and wants to grab dinner. Finally, something to look forward to! We meet at this little trattoria on Via Roma. The food is amazing! I order the pasta alla Genovese, and it’s like a hug in a bowl. We laugh, we reminisce about our childhood, and for a moment, all the stress melts away. But then, as we’re leaving, I trip on the cobblestones. Classic me! I stumble, but I catch myself. My sister bursts out laughing. “You okay, clumsy?” she teases. I roll my eyes, but I can’t help but laugh too. By the time I get home, I’m exhausted but happy. Massa-di-Somma, you crazy little town, you never fail to surprise me. I crash on my bed, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and full of unexpected moments. Just another day in the life of an accountant, I guess!
